I happened to do some searches for some TV shows and the results that came out on Google have made me rethink about new gTLDs.
I could see .Lol, .Watch and .Online on the first page of Google.
Seeing them on the first page of Google has made me think about buying them to develop and rank it on Google.

In case I delve deep into this, I will share my research here.

If you are heavily invested or a strong believer in new gTLDs, please share your knowledge, research and findings about their development and scope for ranking. Also, if possible, please share the intrinsic value that good new gTLD names carry.

Didn't google state that they were going to give less emphasis to domain names, and place more reliance on content and popularity?

Guys this should be no surprise at all....

Google is "pro" nGTLD's its clear from the fact that they have also grabbed many of them for their own use.

@Kuffy Whilst exact match domains don't carry the same amount of value as they used to, they still do have some clout. They would still need to be used in conjunction with good content and a quality link profile

For example: Google spiders will read Watches.online as "Watches Online" now from an SEO perspective, if WatchesOnline.com is taken, then watches.online is definitely not a bad choice at all.

Why should i registered wordwordwordword.com OR stupidword.com when I need create good website for my company?? Or... second choice I can simply buy good domain name for $1,000,000 - Simple choice...

    REALLY!!!??

I don't have this money! ...or better say - I don't want to pay this money!

    If I can't buy sex.com ... for $20M... $30M ... I'll simply register - SEX.LIFE

And I don't care what b*tches will say...

When you search my name, my site ranks on the first page.

My personal site is on a .xyz. I couldn't get my FirstLast.com, so I went with a .xyz. I also own the .net, .org, .co, and .online, but I like the .xyz the most.

Edit: the only results listed above it are Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. It's above everything else.

What has gTld got to do with ranking?

Posting useless information like this only serves to fuel the misconceptions out there.

Now, if you just joined the forum I would understand....

I find new gtld ranking all the time. I find EMD rank #1 almost every time, even if content is nothing compared to the mega sites. since we are into domains, go ahead, google 'domains' (result: domains.google #1) okay, so google loves itself? try others...if there is EMD moderately developed chances are it will rank #1.

PPL are saying google can start to consider extension too. So, they own .ing. I think they can only keep so many per icann, but still, think if they can span: golf.ing, now they can legitimately rank #1 both 'golf' and 'golfing' searches, very easy. it is scary to think google can legitimately rank their sites on #1 in most popular niches this way.

Before listing forsale, I did develop LUXURY.COMPANY and was extremely surprised to see it ranked on Google and Bing first page when I searched for Luxury Company

Well, some experienced Namepros-members claimed that Google would completely disregard anything right of the dot. This would be a serious disadvantage for any new gtld that has something meaningful right of the dot.

So why would the posted information be useless and unrelated?

There's more to a domain than Google. :) If you look back at some of the most successful domains, you'll notice that Google isn't always even a major traffic source.

And they will rank more and more. I don't think domain purchases such as Google's blogger.blog are purely defensive. They will be developed, and SEO rules have to be re-optimized as gTLDs usage explode across the web.

Simple example, I have a 1 page developed ngTLD name: Titin-dot-FYI. Using Google, if I type in "titin", my site appears nowhere. If I type in "titin fyi" the result is within top 5. Clearly, the extension plays a massive role in the result. This is exactly the way it should be, as long as content is relevent too.

BTW, "titin" is the longest word on Earth, in case you were wondering.

ya when i look at a development idea im searching for all the best .ngtld to fit. if they are not very high priced I will get 4-5 nice ones! now, i have the next best things to great .com and if anyone else wanna get in this niche they have to go for super crappy cuz i just got all the tops ones! I really like buy out in a whole niche. Don't give enduser any good options.
