Being reasonable or foolish ...

Hello,

I am wondering if I should accept a bid amount offered, ask for more in a counter offer or go to auction. This is one of those names that sometimes strikes me as strong in potential and sometimes ....not. The bid amount is $500 and is not bad at all. However I feel the name has a higher value. I would like to see an amount in the area of 2k or so but I don't want to scare the buyer away nor do I want to be an unreasonable seller.

The name is 15 letter/2 word dot com . Not a lot of traffic and definitely a specific niche name. OVT under 100. Google search results at 900k. Advertisers rates are low ($.15). Not a parking name. (end user)

The name deals with precision or accuracy in measuring. I don't see a lot of bidders comming out of woodwork for this one.
[I would rather PM name than let the spiders grab it.]

Should I accept the $500 offer, counter with a higher price ($900 ish) or go to auction? . I'm thinking a reasonable counter offer under 1k is the best route but would like some advice. This looks to me to be an end user.

This will be a sedo transaction.

Thank you in advance
namenut :)

^ Accept the $500 offer, IMHO. :music:

If the offer was at sedo and the offerer? is still bound at the end of an auction to buy the domain, I dont see why throwing it in the auction pool would be a bad idea. Then again, taking the $500 and calling it the day is a quicker deposit and smile.

Absolutely, sell the domain. The buyer is most certainly a end user if the domain is related to precision or accuracy in measuring and as you say you don't expect much interest from other potential end users so...yeah, definitely sell it.

Throw out a counter, like $800 (to see if you can get $700) if he don't bite, sell itn at $500.
You said it yourself, it only has value to small group of people, and you just found one.
No PPC
Hardly any overture.
Dump that sucker. (the domain I mean)

I rarely get what I want, usually its what I can live with.
Its hard to let a serious buyer go.

Good choice :tu: , :imho:

Do let us know how it turns out if the buyer doesn't object; it's always fun to see the folks that end up buying names ;)

I would counter with 600 and call it a day. Move on to other domains. Thats my strategy that seems to be working so far :)

That's a good decision. You always dont get what you want, but at least you got something.

They would always comeback. But do not scare them with too high counter offer.

OK....My mistake on original offer. It was actually at $400. I countered with $650 and the buyer countered back with $575 and I accepted it.
I'm happy with the transaction and Thank you all for the advice.
