I am new in a domaining industry. I know there are many new friends entering in this business day by day. I have some basic questions,

1. How to pick best domain name from an open registry to sell with a profit?
   
2. How to avoid trademark/copyrighted/patented domain?
   
3. How to avoid domain SCAMS? what are the types of Domain scams?
   
4. How much time it takes to sell my purchased domain name?
   
5. How to do best deal?
   
6. Which is Best free Marketplace?
   
7. Which is Best premium marketplace Sedo or Godaddy or any other?
   
8. Should I renew my Unsold domain, If I think it will make money? Although not getting response from the marketplace.
   
9. How much money should I invest initially?
   
10. How much domains should I purchase/keep with me at a time?
    
11. Should I park them or what else can I do with them?
    
12. How can I gain and grip expertise in this field?

Hi newbie!


1. you will have to learn more about domains, before you acquire ability to pick and choose.
2. avoid brand names of products and services.
3. read the emails carefully, don't be gullible, don't pay for appraisals, watch out for phishing emails designed to get account login/passwords. no rich guy wants to buy your names.
4. it can take a day or 10 years
5. best deal is done professionally, where you earn higher return or purchase great name for cheap. but avoid "too good to be true" deals...because they always are.
6. the free marketplaces are the best.
7. there is no best premium marketplace
8. if no inquires and no traffic or revenue, after year or so...drop the domain.
9. depends on your capital. but get a budget and have a plan. monitor expenses carefully. don't buy any tools, subscriptions or software.
10. depends on #9, but start with 10 or less for first year. unless you manage to sell some or any get traffic/revenue.
11. always park domains until you decide to develop them into websites or they get sold. do not use any pay to park services, where they charge YOU to list.
12. keep reading, use the search feature to get answers, read sales and domains wanted threads. find a mentor
don't believe they HYPE, it is rampant. don't follow the crowd, they will suck you in.
make your own path, keep your ears open, don't stick your head in the sand. don't take criticism personally...it's for your benefit.
