Hi everyone, I have some newbie questions that I've been mulling over. I've read some related threads on NP, but still looking for some definitive answers/advice. So, here goes:

1.What are the benefits of using whois privacy? Is there any registrar that offers it for free? If you don't use privacy protection, do you use your real name, address, and phone number? I also heard that you shouldn't use free email accounts like gmail or hotmail in your contact info. So, what kind of accounts do you guys use?

2.When an amount is too low for escrow let's say $200 but too high for paypal, what is the best way to go with payment?

3.Newbies are warned against hand-regging too many domains. Yet, I was just taking a look at the available domains section of NP and it's very very active....would you advise a newbie to hand-reg a promising domain if they see one there?

4.Are there any free/inexpensive daily expired domain lists to subscribe to?

Thanks everyone. New to the domaining world but loving every aspect of it.

1. if someone's hiding from the internet, that could be a benefit, i think name.com gives one for free, yes you use your own real info not a made up one.

2. try moneybookers

3. it's just free and available it's not compulsory to register anything. it's just free service.

4. domainnamesoup.com

1. Whois Privacy is mostly for Sites dealing with Warez and all. The owners obviously never want to give their personal info and hence being contacted. If you don't wish to use Whois Privacy but still want protection, obviously noone would give their personal info there. You can use other not so popular email clients.

Rest Weblord cleared out quite nicely in my opinion.

Domain privacy doesn't really do must; the registrars are still required to give the information if asked, if I understand correctly.

I'm catching drops with PR (for one backlink market that pay few but noone cares for relevancy of links that created PR) and remaining traffic that I park.
I usually use TDNAM and seek for domains that went under radar of others and have small bids.
