Bad economic news = Lower CTR

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Anyone notice every time there is bad economic news that CTR drops?

Mine drops about 8% every day bad news comes out. Then it goes right back to normal once the news is less severe.

The folks just keep coming, but it's almost as if some are window shopping with no intent to buy. Or, they are on the Net getting read to buy something and then the TV in the background says..... ACME Company just laid off 10,000 workers, etc........ It's really interesting how the CTR fluctuates in timing with the bad news, or lack thereof.

There is also a drop in uniques on bad news days, but only sometimes.

in parked.com getting an account is very easy, they give everybody same design parking page. Most people who are using parked ,they dont change page style.you are using parked.com ,thats why your ctr is getting lower. Ask your parking manager to use different templates, design.

Thanks for the advice, but it only goes lower on "bad news days". :)

All my pages have been optimized already by me. :)

Ad links are related to shop. Because of bad news and economic crisis , people decide not to shop. They want to keep their money not to spend. If you have social domain like love , religious people can click the links which doesnt sell anything.

I was just thinking about this today. My main business sells products and sales have come to a screeching halt lately. The traffic is still there as normal though.

I track customers when they add stuff to their shopping cart but don't complete the purchase... alot of that going on the past couple days. It's like they are about to checkout and then change their mind at the last second to hang onto their cash.

This is getting horrible!

yeah sales are way down - especially the past couple of weeks. It seems everyone is now being billed for the Christmas expenditures and are now not willing to spend anymore at all. Thankfully the American dollar is 20% higher than the Canadian dollar so for me that helps offset the downturn at least a little. I haven't noticed any slow down in ctr though, but the returns have also dipped over the past 30 days.

Those that work hard during the slow economic times and survive it will come out ahead - much like those after the dot com crash.

bad economy = fewer marketing budget = fewer related ads = fewer CTR
bad economy = people keep their money = don't follow ads = fewer CTR

is it going to be worse than today? or we are at the bottom?

Returns are at a high for me too... probably with other retailers too that offer money back guarantees. I wonder if people are just returning stuff just to get some money back on their credit cards.
