Lately, from memory the worst domain to be advertised on my TV screen is doubt-themovie.com. It is not just the dash, it is a dash that is not even uniform. It's hard to even say doubt-the-movie.com is any better. All of this hits my mind while looking at a report history and seeing that doubt.net went for $350. I didn't get the name, but you would think that name would be a better match. Would they be interested in such a name or would the say that "the movie" ending is more helpful? At the same time, most end users are clueless about domains.

I think doubt.net is not good fit for the movie "doubt".
doubt.net - you wouldn't know what that site is about from domain itself.
doubt-themoive.com - you know what that site is about from domain itself.

Plus, for SEO, doubt-themovie.com is much better than doubt.net

you'd think that for the amount of money that is spent advertising and promoting a film...all the publicity and commercials etc. We're talking millions of dollars. You'd think they would at lease set aside a couple thousand bucks to buy a decent domain for it..for the price of a couple local radio commercials. I mean really, would the owner of the unhyphened "doubtthemovie.com" really be asking that much?
It just means that somebody over there in marketing is not very good at their job.

yes as a domainer you would want to think so. unfortunately, most of the time, we live in our own little bubble

Hyphens are quiet common on TV but not ones like that LOL

I just saw a strange thing recently on TV, comparethemarket.com is always advertising car insurance on TV and i think they get many thousands of visitors to their website ....now they started using another domain in their adverts and saying don't go to comparethemeerkat.com

Its queit a funny ad but its unusual that after spending thousands branding one domain they now introduce another domain. (at least they put a website on the second one lol)

This is the ad shown on TV http://www.comparethemeerkat.com/tv-ad.html

...so now we have Elephants and Meerkats selling car insurance on UK TV, Britain is turning into a right zoo :guilty:
