Backorder a dictionary word domain

I have a chance getting a dictionary word domain. It expired this month but still has old Whois info. It is medium length and plural. The domain has been registered since 1998 and has now dropped off the DNS map, so to speak - it is unreachable. I use GoDaddy. Is backordering this a good idea or is more likely that it will be reregistered or end up on auction at tdnam.com (as GoDaddy stated might happen in their "Backordering Explanation" page)?

Update

Found two more premiums by same owner. WHOIS shows that they are all on "REGISTRAR-HOLD" and "REGISTRAR-LOCK". Not sure what "REGISTRAR-HOLD" means. Please advise.
