I have been toying around with an idea on how to get some backlinks. So I thought I would ask everyone. What are oneway backlinks worth to you?

How much would you pay for 1,000 backlinks? 2,000? 3,000?... 5,000?

It really depends on the PR. Plus most people charged too much for links, that's why I don't buy them

I agree.... and it also depends on how quick the backlinks are created and if they all come from the same or different ips.

Thx

it also depends on whether the linking site is related, where it's placed, and how much traffic that site gets.

Submission of article and press release is better then buying backing.

Thank you for your comments,

I'm talking about good related links and not buying them. Good natural links from related blogs, forums and article sites.

this could cost $xxx and upwards - especially if the sites have good pageranks.

Backlinks is one thing which is essential in getting your site rank higher and improve your ranking.

I have paid $799 to get 4000 odd links from different services. Be it directory ,article social bookmarking

you can actually get them for free if you invest some time to it. there are plenty of social media, web 2.0, and wiki sites that offer do follow links. all you have to do it to sign up for an account and keep publishing your theme based articles and you get relevant backlinks form those pages. i wrote a blogpost here on how to build backlinks with social media and web 2.0 sites. feel free to read at your leisure

They mean a lot. I would recommend you to focus on quality, not quantity.

I'd create my own. Autoblogging using WP and the myriad free wp hosts out there is the way to go. That way they keep pump[ing out links to you day in day out, so your site looks like it's 'growing in popularity'.

Backlinks are really important especially if they came from relevant sites that have great content plus a decent PR.

That can be gotten free with hard and long hours of work trying to build the links, or you hire a link builder to help you with the task.

The biggest thing that I would look for in getting backlinks is whether they are naturally occurring backlinks from within a content page (no directory pages, sidebars, link pages, comments, forum posts, etc.)

A backlink is specifically a link that points at your site from an external source. Linking is a more general term. It could include reciprocal links (you link to them, they link to you), internal site links (links within your own content on a single website), or outbound links (which tend to dilute your score if you overdo it and they aren't particularly relevant).

Google is all about measuring connectivity and relevance, in theory. Backlinks show that some other site thinks your worth mentioning. If its an important site, especially on an important page, that helps establish your credibility.

Inbound links from high page rank sites are superior in establishing "site credibility" and therefore your sites worthiness to be viewed in terms of googles algorythms.

If you have prmotion budget, then use it wisely. Pay for press releases, article submission etc and be natural.
