Backlinks, What are they worth to you?

I have been toying around with an idea on how to get some backlinks. So I thought I would ask everyone. What are oneway backlinks worth to you?

How much would you pay for 1,000 backlinks? 2,000? 3,000?... 5,000?

I do backlinks for website manually. I use the following techniques to get back links for websites:

- Web link directory submission;
- Article directory submission;
- Social bookmarking;
- Press release submission;
- Search engine submission;
- Forum posting;
- Link exchange with topic related sites;

I don't buy my backlinks as I find they are much better quality if I build them myself. You cannot really put a cost on a number as there are so many variable it just isn't possible (relevance, pagerank, traffic to site, etc).
