Hello domainers!
About half a year ago I decided it was time to take a break from domaining (Personal reasons). I made a lot of mistakes from the investor's point of view - I invested money into bad names without doing any research are there even potential users for these particular names. Many of you here may well be identified in this same story and have made the same mistakes.
How did this happen to me?
In 2016 when I became familiar with domain name investing, I only checked from Namebio.com domain name sales and thought that my crap names will sell for millions of dollars - Yeah, I think many of the newbies thinks the same way like I did at that time. I did not realize that doing research like these ones:

- Checking SEO stats and traffic information

Are acting so important part when you try to find your gem or gems to your domain portfolio. It took me about 2 years to find out how to use these tools effectively and how to select the best names from millions and millions domain names.I registered and bought names for around x,xxx amount. I think many of you will know how "great" my ROI was (If I'm honest, it wasn't even 5%.)
How things are at this moment?
I did get back from a break about a month ago with new new thoughts, visions and strategies. After my return I have registered/bought 7 names and now I have sold 5 of them. Here are some statistics from them:
Domain Number 1:
Hand-reg token related domain name, registered with price of 12€, sold for 42.25€ - Profit 30.25€
Domain Number 2:
Hand-reg token related domain name, registered with price of 12€, sold for 25€ - Profit 13€
Domain Number 3:
Hand-reg estate related domain name, registered with price of 12€, sold for 4€ - Loss 8€
Domain Number 4:
Expired adult related domain name, won expired auction with price of 25€, sold for 435€ - Profit 410€
Domain Number 5:
Expired GEO related domain name, won expired auction with price of 29€, sold for 289€ - Profit 260€
So with simple calculation I have used 90€ for these names and made a profit 705.25€ in this month. Sometimes little break can be really helpful and make you a better investor. I have used many hours and days to make research for these names before buying them and as you can see, it has paid off. Now I can finally say that I have made a good job and made the right decisions and this break has made me a better investor.
I did use mid xxx amount from these profits to 1997 registered domain and it has active history since 1998. Similar name sold for xx,xxx in the past.
Would this be a start to my journey to become professional domain name investor? Who knows, maybe it could be and I can archieve that with hard work.
