RE: Autonomous & Driverless car domains

Seems like there's a lot of news lately, as recently as the last few days, of advances in driverless & autonomous cars. There are multiple auto makers getting ready to launch some form of these cars, and of course, Google is working on their project car.

I have a handful of domains related to this news & technology, and I am wondering if anybody else has any? Also, any spike in traffic to your domains, or news of sales???

Im finding it weird that for such a strong niche the bids are so low on some of these keywords in my auction though. $1 almost a full year left.

There very huge domains for the niche

Many don't believe in the niche yet. But the time more sales start popping up, Eyes will open but will be too late

yeah but to pay $10 when you can get better for under $5 makes no sense. lol Especially when a month ago couldnt touch an auction under $25 pretty much here. Let alone one thats a $3 bid with more potential then boat which went $5k

You've liked a variety of posts with your username and profile picture, should we suspect something shady happening there? Of course not.

Instead of being accusatory why not reach out to this member via PM and introduce yourself.

For all you know, it could be one of the gents buying all the names lately. Or perhaps an existing member who's decided to enjoy the benefits of an NP business account.

Either way, Welcome to the thread and forum, Selfdriving!

Found this quite interesting, the UK's approach to automated vehicle insurance. Looks like if it is the vehicles fault ie no person driving. Both parties will be able to claim from the insurers of the car that caused the accident. What isn't clear though is how that may affect the no claims bonus of that person (as it wasn't actually their fault) then the insurance company has the right to recover those payouts from the manufacturer/hacker/software provider etc..

Liability and automated vehicles

2.20 We are not currently proposing any significant change in our rules on liability in road
traffic accidents to reflect the introduction of automated cars. We still think a fault
based approach combined with existing product liability law, rather than a new strict
liability regime, is the best approach for our legal system. We think that the existing
common law on negligence should largely be able to adapt to this new technology.

2.21 In order to protect third parties and enable the product liability insurance proposals to
function properly, there are certain areas where we will need to consider creating
new rights of action directly against an insurer when there would not necessarily be a
claim in negligence against the driver who purchased that insurance policy.

2.22 For example, if an accident occurred as a result of a defect with the vehicle we are
proposing that both the driver and injured third parties will be given a right to pursue
a claim directly against the driver’s insurer (even though the manufacturer rather than
the driver was at fault). Similarly we are proposing that injured third parties will be
given a direct right of action against the insurer where an accident results from a
vehicle being hacked. In these circumstances the insurer would be able to then
pursue the party at fault, or otherwise liable, to recover the costs of compensating the
injured parties.

Thanks @Jasper schilperoord @RevolutionaryDomains and @Haykay2005 for noticing my sign up and activity.

Like many here, I've received outreach from the active buyers in this niche (and declined all offers because I believe in the enormous long term value of this space). I've been browsing NamePros for years and am a long-time enthusiast of self driving vehicles. I mostly hand reg domains, but may continue to jump into a few auctions going forward now that I've created an account. I also look forward to participating in this thread and others. Thanks again and feel free to DM me anytime.

Autonomous .Delivery

Starship's autonomous delivery robots are heading to Washington, DC

Starship’s delivery robots will soon be trundling around the streets of Washington, DC and Redwood City, California after the company behind the technology got approval for further trials.

The robots, created by London-based Starship Technologies, are designed to deliver small packages within a two-to-three mile radius. They operate autonomously 99 per cent of the time, using a range of sensors and mapping data to navigate their environment.

In a statement, Redwood City mayor John Seybert said the robots had the potential to reduce traffic and “allow restaurants and businesses to serve a greater number of customers.”

The six-wheeled robots were created by Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis, formerly of Skype, in 2015. Its creators claim it will be able to deliver two bags of shopping, weighing around 9kg, on short trips within half an hour of an order being placed. The aim, according to Heinla, is to cut down the cost for the last mile of delivery.

I am a newcomer to the driverless niche and domaining in general. This thread has been super helpful, I also see the opportunity here.

I wish I had invested sooner, however, I have started with hand-registering the following (not the best, however, I am glad I have made a start);

DriverlessConvertibles.com
AutonomousConvertibles.com

Thanks to all who have posted.
Excellent domains.

Ive got driverlessconvertible.com

Self-Driving Grocery Vehicles Introduced in Norway
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2016-11/12/c_135824781.htm

The idea is to use the already existing automatic and self-driving functions to deliver groceries in a simpler and cheaper way. - Kolonial CEO

In the very near future, companies will be looking to differentiate their offerings by delivering them in self driving vehicles, the likes of which we've never seen before. Professionals and services will bring their goods to you, or bring you along for the ride while you take in their service offering.

I registered some names inspired by this news:
selfdriving groceries, supermarket, pub, lounge, cafe, coffee, coffeeshop, diner, restaurant, restaurants, laundromat, laundry, drycleaner, drycleaning, florist, flowers, mover, gym, spa, salon, stylist, barber, massage, dentist, vet, therapist, church, casinos (all in .com)

By thinking along these lines, there are many other domains one could take a flyer on.
