RE: Autonomous & Driverless car domains

Seems like there's a lot of news lately, as recently as the last few days, of advances in driverless & autonomous cars. There are multiple auto makers getting ready to launch some form of these cars, and of course, Google is working on their project car.

I have a handful of domains related to this news & technology, and I am wondering if anybody else has any? Also, any spike in traffic to your domains, or news of sales???

Tesla Autopilot’s new radar technology predicts an accident caught on dashcam a second later

Just a few weeks ago, we published a report about how Tesla’s new radar technology for the Autopilot is already proving useful in some potentially dangerous situations. We now have a new piece of evidence that is so spectacularly clear that it’s worth updating that report.

The video of an accident on the highway in the Netherlands caught on the dashcam of a Tesla Model X shows the Autopilot’s forward collision warning predicting an accident before it could be detected by the driver.

With the release of Tesla’s version 8.0 software update in September, the automaker announced a new radar processing technology that was directly pushed over-the-air to all its vehicles equipped with the first generation Autopilot hardware.

One of the main features enabled by the new radar processing capacity is the ability for the system to see ahead of the car in front of you and basically track two cars ahead on the road. The radar is able to bounce underneath or around the vehicle in front of the Tesla Model S or X and see where the driver potentially can not because the leading vehicle is obstructing the view.

That’s demonstrated clearly in this real world situation on the Autobahn today.

Automated driving system

An automated driving system is a complex combinations of various components that can be defined as systems where perception, decision making, and operation of the automobile are performed by electronics and machinery instead of a human driver, and as introduction of automation into road traffic. This includes handling of the vehicle, destination, as well as awareness of surroundings. While the automated system has control over the vehicle, it allows the human operator to leave all responsibilities to the system.

The automated driving system is generally an integrated package of individual automated systems operating in concert. Automated driving implies that you as the driver have given up the ability to drive (i.e., all appropriate monitoring, agency, and action functions) to the vehicle automation system. Even though you as the driver may be alert and ready to take action at any moment, you are still giving up the ability to the automation system.

Building Ford’s Next-Generation Autonomous Development Vehicle

By Chris Brewer, Chief Program Engineer, Ford Autonomous Vehicle Development

I’m proud to introduce the next-generation Ford Fusion Hybrid autonomous development vehicle.

It’s been three years since we hit the streets with our first Fusion Hybrid autonomous research vehicle, and this latest version takes everything we learned and builds on it.

This new car uses the current Ford autonomous vehicle platform, but ups the processing power with new computer hardware. Electrical controls are closer to production-ready, and adjustments to the sensor technology, including placement, allow the car to better see what’s around it. New LiDAR sensors have a sleeker design and more targeted field of vision, which enables the car to now use just two sensors rather than four, while still getting just as much data.

As we’ve discussed before, there are two main elements to creating an autonomous vehicle — the autonomous vehicle platform, which is an upgraded version of the car itself, and the virtual driver system. This new vehicle evolves both measures, particularly with regard to the development and testing of the virtual driver system, which represents a big leap in sensing and computing power.

Kicking myself a bit over missing this domain area completely :(. Congrats to everyone who has made good sales with these domains and to those who still hold good ones.

Its still early.
Those are early aftermarket days, still possible to get nice names for a reseller price imo, but after ces all is on fire

Autonomous
Driverless
Selfdriving
MR
AR
VR
Etc... At least for a few months it will be burning lol.

Regged SelfDrivingDaily .com sounds like a reasonable domain for a news site, also "daily" domains tend to do quite well.

I like this one. Very brandable.

This article points to one of the unforeseen consequences of self-driving cars; The Organ Donor shortage is all ready a major problem. But with self-driving cars virtually eliminating the 1 in 5 organ donations coming from the victim of a vehicular accident, the shortage will get worse.

Self-Driving Cars Will Make Organ Shortages Even Worse

Ironically, the title of the next article is:
Uber’s Self-Driving Cars Turn in a Way That Can Kill Bicyclists
