Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Anyway, I'm glad I removed all my premium listings, thats quiet an amateurish way to keep sellers on their platform by giving them hope that they have millions of meaningless views.

Crazy, isnt it?

None of my "stats" ever made sense to me. I stopped looking at the numbers months ago, I download my names once a day if I can remember just to make sure they're still there and in compliance and set up properly, etc. Each day I copy/paste the dashboard data into a speadsheet and just collect it. I just want to see if something eventually changes at this point. But I dont spend any more time on it than copy/paste/save/close that speadsheet (until this post :-P)

Its not worth my time to look at the views anymore; not in the files, not on the dashboard.

So, speaking of data, here is an example:

Yesterday 20-NOV-2025 my dashboard says there was 1,340 "platform discovery views" that day. Its been on a rise since 08-NOV when it was at 915. It seems to fluctuate between 850 and 1400, weekly. There were also 22 "Direct Lander Visits" and those are pretty much from 15 to 25 weekly.

I have to wonder, did those 22 views "get into" the Atom system and bounce around my domains giving me 1,340 platform views? I dont know how 22 becomes 1,340.

As far as the views in my two file downloads:
1) Supposedly 84 views across 216 standard (all non-plus) domains.
2) Supposedly 183 views across 135 premium domains.

So, 84+183 = 267 views across all of my names which is nowhere near 22 nor is it near 1,340.

I cant make that math work.

On top of that, those categories on the dashboard "High Ranking in Marketplace" and "Landers With Above Average Time Spent" (Domains where visitors spend the most time on landing pages) have not really changed in months.

For example, one of the names with excessive lander time spent (38m 38s) has been at that number from 16-SEP-2025 to 13-OCT-2025 then on 14-OCT-2025 that domain went down to 20m 48s through 17-OCT-2025. On 18-OCT-2025 it dropped, further, to 12m 54s and has remained at that level since (so over a month).

It is incomprehensible to me that someone can be viewing a domain of mine for 38+ minutes for almost a month, then 20+ minutes for 4 days after that, and finally settling on viewing that domain for nearly 13 seconds for over a month now. Makes zero sense to me.. This particular domain doesnt even show up in the nearly stagnant "High Ranking in Marketplace" list on the dashboard.

And that is just one of about 10-12 domains on these dashboard category lists. Except....... "Strong Buyer Interest" rarely has any entries. I dont know about anyone else but if someone is viewing a domain name for 38, 20, 12, even 5 or 6 minutes per day then shouldnt that domain also show up in "Strong Buyer Interest"?

"Repeat Views & Inquiries" also rarely has entries in it.

I have had one premium sale after 17 weeks. That domain didnt show up in any dashboard lists and had low visit stats from the files I download almost every day. So no correlation there, just pure buyer was interested and found it/needed it.

Sometimes, I think the old Afternic system that you receive an email ONLY when there is an offer or a sale was the best.

I have 3 repeated visit domains with same first and second visit dates 14 nov. and 19 nov.
And other 3 domains with same first and second visit dates 18 nov. and 19 nov.

By observing dates we can assume here by 90% the visitor is the same curious person ( domainer ) browsing domains !

If you guys having same my dates of repeating visits, Means he is the same bastard !

After being back as a seller at Atom for a few weeks, I have to say I am a bit disappointed with their support. Their chat people (in the Philippines?) do a great job, but when they refer questions to the Marketplace Team, they mostly don't get back to me. Right now I have an issue with how they handle VAT, which is quite a mess I think.

I have had one premium sale after 17 weeks. That domain didnt show up in any dashboard lists and had low visit stats from the files I download almost every day. So no correlation there, just pure buyer was interested and found it/needed it.
Some time ago I sent them an inquiry asking why the visit numbers in the file donโ€™t match the number of visits shown in the dashboard. In response, I received the same message that has been hanging on their website for quite a while (and will probably stay there forever๐Ÿ˜–), just phrased a bit differently:
โ€œRecent Update: We have recently implemented an aggressive bot filtering algorithm to improve data quality. Views and Discovery data may not be fully accurate for the next few days as the system adjusts to the new filtering rules.โ€

I also tried to clarify with them what exactly the numbers in โ€œViews & Discoveryโ€ mean. If I understood correctly -in your case, the 1,340 means that Atom โ€œshowedโ€ your domain to users 1,340 times, for example in search results - but that doesn't mean that 1,340 people viewed the landing page.
The 22 โ€œDirect Lander Visitsโ€ means there were 22 landing page views - coming either from Atom or from external sources (e.g. backlinks). Why the values differ between the file and the dashboard, and which one is correct, I honestly have no idea.๐Ÿ˜– They didn't answer it.
In my case, nothing has changed for a long time in โ€œHow are buyers finding your names,โ€ and the list is quite short. Since Iโ€™m getting some โ€œDirect Lander Visitsโ€ each day, it seems a bit strange to me, because that would mean that none of those visits are coming from Search.

In my opinion, someone viewed your domain on 16-SEP-2025 for 38 minutes. Until 14-OCT-2025 it had no views, so the โ€œAverage Time Spentโ€ stayed the same.
On 14-OCT-2025, your domain was viewed for 2 minutes โ†’ the average dropped to 20 minutes because itโ€™s probably calculated as (38 min + 2 min) / 2.
On 18-OCT-2025, someone viewed it again for a short time, and the average dropped further... and so onโ€ฆ
[BTW, they could show the number of longer visits in addition to the average time. Your domain most likely had 3 longer visits. Without tracking these metrics daily, a person would have no way of knowing that.]

For me itโ€™s unbelievable how many bugs/issues this app has and nothing is being done about them...๐Ÿ˜–

Iโ€™ve just noticed my domain in โ€˜How buyers are finding other names in the marketplaceโ€™, but it didnโ€™t show up in โ€˜How buyers are finding your namesโ€™ (the data there hasnโ€™t changed for me in a looooong time). It seems that now I have the answer why -> โ€˜How buyers are finding your namesโ€™ isnโ€™t working either (at least on my side).๐Ÿ˜–

Another interesting finding - a newly added domain for sale. The number of views shown in the table is 0, but it appeared in โ€˜Landers With Above Average Time Spentโ€™ with a time longer than the standard. ๐Ÿ˜…

Why does the price expire after buyer has accepted it and both parties have agreed to a sale?
Is the buyer still bound by the purchase contract in the case of an "expired price," or should this mechanism be interpreted as an invitation to fake bidders? @Atom.com

Could this inside data be related to their recent decrease in how much data theyโ€™re willing to share with sellers?

Retraction:
Based on recent posts in this thread, it occurred to me that I had mistakenly assumed Atom stopped sharing data after they revamped how they measure stats and filter bots. In reality, it appears this is just a glitch with my account โ€” my stats havenโ€™t updated since the change, even though other analytics clearly show ongoing visitors. I reached out to support two days ago and was told Iโ€™ll need to wait until Monday for a response.

Anyone else experiencing this?

About two months ago, I had the similar issue that I described earlier here on the forum:

"โ€œRepeated viewsโ€ is the worst part for me. My domains that appear in the new โ€œRepeat Views & Inquiriesโ€ view with repeated visits often donโ€™t have those visits listed in the domain details (which means Iโ€™ll lose this info after 7 days). And the same happens in the opposite way - my repeated visits to some domains often donโ€™t show up in โ€œRepeat Views & Inquiries,โ€ but they do appear in the domain details (I donโ€™t think these are bots, since the visit time for those domains increases)."

At this point, Iโ€™m not sure if anything has been changed or not. I often try to check whether the number of result change when filtering data in the table by โ€œStrong buyer interest,โ€ because thatโ€™s how I noticed that I have new repeated views in the table & domain details but not on the Dashboard. Recently in my case this data seems to be the same, so itโ€™s hard for me to tell if it's working or not (I'd have to check too many domen details to check it :/). However, I just checked and I still see in the table that a domain had repeated views (it has 'Strong buyer interest' icon in the table) and I remember that this domain had repeated views, while in the details, this data is missing. So, in my opinion (and seeing how Atom handles bugs) this part still seems to have errors.

Seriously what happened to Atom? Their platform seems like a racehorse that jumped out front at the start and then started fading at the halfway point.

It looks pretty good, but it would be nice to have this data in a table. With hundreds of domains, it's hard to check the details for all of them.

Besides that, the same issue still occurs -> the total number of landing page visits differs from what the landing page visits for the last 7 and 30 days show.

For example, for a domain added to Atom yesterday, I have:
  • Lander Visits (Overall) = 5 visits
  • Direct Lander Visits (Last 7 days) = 0
  • Direct Lander Visits (Last 90 days) = 0
Has anyone figured out why these numbers are different?
How is this possible and why does it happen? Which data is correct and which incorrect? ( @Atom )

Agreed, the screenshot of the domain I took above has only been on Atom for about 6 months, so 5 direct lander visits in the last 90 days when it says 253 overall is clearly wrong.

Honesty is the best policy. I think all the meaningless tricks about metrics didn't help, then the owner at some point said they dont make any money. Burying the standard listings didn't help either.
Also by accepting everything to increase sales it has turned to a domain dumpster full of worthless junk where its hard to find the valuable names.
And Afternic of course.

Is the buyer still bound by the purchase contract in the case of an "expired price," or should this mechanism be interpreted as an invitation to fake bidders?

Atom has a X number of days limit on the buyer paying for the domain after the price has been accepted, and once that time limit is over, the deal is dead.

And yes, it would seem to promote the behavior of deadbeats and fake bidders, as in one month (October I believe) I had about 8 of these agreed-on transactions that timed out.
