Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

GoDaddyGoDaddy
I asked for examples of logos that were (as you said) more dynamic than before and that used color to differentiate words. I'm looking for an excuse to generate more logos with Atom.

Here are the examples you provided:

Or maybe this wasn't meant to answer my question? It's only been 6 hours, so who knows?

Speaking of GoDaddy, with an answer (or avoidance) like that you are showing you don't care much.

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding however the post above addressed a different question, which was included in the quoted response.

Here are a few logos recently generated using the new algorithm. However please note that this technology is still in Beta, and you may still need multiple attempts to achieve the design that works for you.

Take a deep breath. They replied with an answer to another poster and quoted that post in their answer. It is clear they didn't respond to you (yet). Further, since they just updated their AI logo maker - it is unlikely the sellers even know about it - let alone recreated logos for the examples they gave.
I don't think a lack of logo examples is the reason they would not have responded to me. They stated these improvements have arrived. I don't think they would say that unless they tested it out (and would therefore have examples to share)

My post crossed with theirs. Thank you @Atom.com

These are really nice. They look nothing like the one I just created with the new algorithm. Did you add any special instructions other than the split text?

@Atom.com I'd like some assistance. I'd like to take you up on the above offer to have a call with one of your marketplace specialists to understand onboarding for .now. I have a >70% approval rate on .com's, and am a Gold seller. However, for .now I am at ~32% acceptance and am getting verbs denied (the best fit with .now imo). Further see the screenshot below for todays denials.

It's obvious you are treating .now differently than com. I can't use the AI tool as it's ranking my .now submissions 6.1-7.5 with $22k-$37k per name pricing. Yet all are being denied. So that tool obv doesn't work at all for .now.

It's quite obvious you are seeking something quite different than, short (some even 4L), dictionary word, TLDs taken, TLDs developed, fit with the TLD (verbs & nouns of things people want), Ai ratings, and Ai prices.

Perusing the premium approved section here is an example of "noun" approvals: Parallel, Giant, Sword, Extreme, Grand, Midas, Polaris, Triangle, Legend, Aroma, Amber, etc.

Meanwhile, I've had a variety of action verbs denied (which seem to fit best with this TLD) plus a lot of similar nouns to those shown above, with TLDs taken/developed higher than every single approved noun shown in the list. Some of the approved names have <200 TLDs taken and don't appear on the surface to fit the TLD (but obviously since you're accepting them and denying mine - I have something to learn). So I need to understand how your marketplace specialist sees it - so I can submit the proper sorts of names. Look forward to setting up a call. Please DM with details. Thanks!

@Atom.com can you please respond to this request? I'd like to have a call with one of your onboarding specialists re .now

Is there a way to sort or folio with names using "minimal landers"? If not this is needed asap. We can't properly manage landers w/o seeing which names are using which lander.

The AI occasionally struggles with longer names, but regenerating the design often yields better results. For example, here’s a regenerated version of the same logo without providing any additional instructions:
1735587892247.png

For the examples we shared, none included extra guidance however some required additional regenerations. We recommend starting with no custom instructions since the technology is being trained to identify the most suitable designs and icons without requiring much input. If you're not satisfied with the results, you can always add guidance related to the icon. When doing so, we suggest keeping it brief—just 2-3 words—and focusing on objects or nouns that describe the desired icon.

If you’d like to speak with someone from our Marketplace team, you’re welcome to chat with us, email us directly, or request a phone call. Please note that the Marketplace team can assist with "how-to" questions, help you navigate platform features and options, and support new users with onboarding. However, they are unable to provide specific guidance on acceptance criteria for domains beyond what is outlined in our help articles.

The .NOW extension is relatively new, and we have limited insights into end-user sales at this stage. We believe it has potential, which is why we’ve included it in our Premium section. However, due to the current lack of significant end-user demand, we’re experimenting with different styles of names—primarily one-word options—to gauge traction with end users. As we gather more data and start identifying trends in names that resonate, the acceptance criteria may evolve.

At this time, we are being cautious about accepting too many .now names, as we want to avoid flooding the marketplace without seeing a corresponding increase in end-user adoption. In the meantime, if you’re submitting strong SLDs that align well with the extension and demonstrate good commercial adoption (e.g., relevance to industries with potential VC investment or development across other TLDs), your submissions are more likely to be accepted.

Dear domain investors, in addition to logo design, I have been interested in the domain industry for quite some time and want to start investing in addition to it in 2025, as I have accumulated a lot of cool names in the document and believe that they will definitely be valuable, so I need advice and answers from you:

1. Where is the best and most profitable place to buy domain names, maybe there are some coupon discounts on an ongoing basis, advise.
2. If I buy a domain, for example, on https://www.namecheap.com/, how can I transfer it to Atom to sell it there as a premium or standard domain, maybe there is an instruction somewhere?
3. If I conditionally buy a domain for 1 year and submit it as a premium on Atom, and then I change my mind about renewing this domain in a year, what should I do with it on Atom, what are my steps?
4. I know there's also Sedo, Afternic. Where do names sell better?
5. Do I need to buy Domain Protection, etc. from domain registrars, or is it an unnecessary expense if after buying a domain, they will be sell on the market?

Thank you and Happy New Year 2025:)

I would say start by learning about the daily list of .com domains that are dropped daily. You can join expireddomains(dot)net and learn how to use all the filters, you can filter to get the daily list of dropping .coms and further sort the list by the numbers of other domain extensions they are registered in, this gives you a good idea of the better quality dropping domains.

Around 80,000 are dropped a day. I generally view the first 2000 names daily , saving my favourites and then placing what is called a backorder for any I would like to try and acquire.

For placing a backorder you can use a service like DropCatch(dot)com . Learn how the backorder process works, how to place a backorder and when you are ready place your first back order.

When you register a domain it is generally for a period of one year, after this period you need to renew it again if you want to keep ownership of it.

You can submit your domains to Brandable marketplaces like BrandBucket and Atom but they will need to be accepted first. At the start expect a lot of rejections. However you can submit your domains to a marketplace like Afternic or Sedo without needing acceptance.

And for sure read the newbies section on Namepros , it will speed up your learning and save you lots of $$$

If you plan on hand registering domains your chance of success will be much lower I believe.

You are asking for advice which is a good way to start always

Thank you, this is very helpful, and provides info to help me understand why you're accepting names the way you are currently. And I agree with the strategy. Happy New Year!

Will you allow the seller to set the reserve price on the public auctions versus ATOM hard capping what you think it's worth?

You set the reserve price on my LLLL at 22% of your own evaluation.

Undervalued appraisals and reserve prices negatively impact the seller and the auction house.

Your AI generated image misspelled my domain name 6 times before it spelled it right on the 7th and 8th time, can my account be reimbursed?

The first time this occurred I emailed tech support. Their non-resolution resulted in me spending more money to correct the mistake.

2. If I buy a domain, for example, on https://www.namecheap.com/, how can I transfer it to Atom to sell it there as a premium or standard domain, maybe there is an instruction somewhere?
You don’t transfer names to Atom. They are not a registrar. You verify ownership and point nameservers to Atom for names you list at Atom.
3. If I conditionally buy a domain for 1 year and submit it as a premium on Atom, and then I change my mind about renewing this domain in a year, what should I do with it on Atom, what are my steps?
Atom ToS require you to give 30 days notice for names you plan to delist from Premium. That includes names you plan to let expire.
5. Do I need to buy Domain Protection, etc. from domain registrars, or is it an unnecessary expense if after buying a domain, they will be sell on the market?
No, it is an unnecessary expense for names you intend to sell.

Sites like TLDES.com and TLD-list.com will show you best rates, including if current coupons.

Thank you for your expert assistance. Also,

1. Can you tell me how effective Sedo auctions are?
2. Is it possible to sell domains, for example, on several sites or is it prohibited?

Sold my first name via Atom Auctions at $10. Didn't realize they take 30% commissions when sold via a reverse auction when sold at $10. Not worth participating with Atom Auctions at this rate. @Atom.com you should consider a sliding scale... 30% commission if it receives bids in the first 5 days and then slide it downwards as it counts down from $50 to $10 over the final 5 days. A $10 sale shouldn't be hit with a whopping 30% commission.

The Wholesale marketplace only takes 5% commission when I sell a name at $10. Had I known the incredible difference - I'd have just listed it in the Wholesale marketplace at $10 and saved the difference.

Did you set reserve?

Did you set reserve?

It's a forward reserve auction... it goes down to $10 (which I knew when I submitted). I wasn't unhappy to sell at $10 - I'm unhappy with the commission at 30% at $10.

Although I just found out it isn't 30% commission. It is actually 10% commission, but Atom has a $3 minimum. Which makes it 30% for all $10 sales (which is painful). Not sure why they institute a $3 min via Auctions but not via the Wholesale marketplace. But I won't participate with Auctions so long as they keep the $3 min and the marketplace has none.

  • "Atom.com charges a commission of 10% on the final auction price or closeout purchase price, with a minimum commission of $3."
