discuss Are you still finding high quality expiring domains?

It seems to me that the number of high quality (or even good quality) domains expiring / dropping has gone down significantly in the last 6 months or so. I browse the Namejet, Godaddy and Dropcatch lists frequently but very rarely find anything that I'm super excited about (although I don't really trade the 4L / numerics market). I was wondering if this is just me, or have others also noticed a significant drying up of the market?

I got an sudden sale via afternic just a few days ago
where I'd set the buy now after inquiry to $1188 USD

so I am testing that price now for a while
my $3888 USD or $5888 USD may have been a little uneffecive ..
Have you tested much less ? $100 , $200, $500 ?

I sold 1 at flippa 288 usd after inquiry
flippa is always low $-
I sold 2 at $488 BuyNow at my own platform
- most probably left money on the table-

the lower amount didn't lead to significantly more sales

I often have offers at $100 (maybe 2-3 per day), but a counter offer at $500 will be accepted maybe once every 10 offers. A counter at $2000 will be accepted maybe once every 50 offers.

if I calculate that right
you earn more using the 2K usd offer

so you sell on a daily basis for $100?
no, it depends of domains, parking revenues, if it's first offer for the domain, if i have it for a long time or not, etc...

if you sell a domain for $100 USD
your margin may be what $50 usd?

if you sell for $2000 usd
your argin is $1950 usd

so are you sure about the better price point

so what is the most profitable price point?
giving more money in 1 month?

chances are

that somebody would wants one
even if the price is ridiculousy high

better
