.tv Are you a domain speculator or a developer?

As Wine Guy stated - that is a question everyone should be asking themselves with .TV.

My answer is definately speculator, and very hampered developer. As you guys will have seen from my recent posts, I believe I have very good ideas - but I have no computer programming/administration skills - at all - so I am at the mercy of finding a programmer to put my ideas into action.

Now regging.TV's costs me $29.99 at the moment and for domain speculation thats the entire process completed - flip it, hold on to it or in my case more often than not, realise what a tit I was to reg that domain in the first place. But that is it . $29.99 + Tax

As you may have read in my threads, I believe I have some great ideas for web development on some of my sites. However making use of the .TV domain would require not just a programmer, but a good programmer, aswell as the cost of web hosting for possibly alot of web content, marketing, advertising............this could cost me thousands just to get the site up and running...........I do not have this type of money. So I keep reaching out for help, offering part ownership....but to date no one has taken me up on any offers.........

Below are sites that I believe have really good dev potential....and I list these in order of the most potentially rewarding first and moving on down...............Whilst some of you may question my priority, it is because I have not shared all the ideas I have for these domain names, so it may not make sense unless you knew what I wanted to do with them...but here goes

2. FREEBROADCAST.TV
3. WATCHMYWIFE.TV - (STUNNING CONCEPT HERE - KEPT UNDER WRAP FOR NOW)
4. DEATH PENALTY.TV
5. PUNDIT.TV, PUNDITS.TV
6.0260.TV
7.TEARJERKER.TV

So I reach out again, offering anyone who sees the potential in any of these sites part ownership in exchange for programming skills and then the most important thing would be to enjoy the ride.

I see the value in .TV because I do definately see the future of TV & PC merging to the point where the difference between the two would be based upon screen size and screen capabilities.

I also happen to work in the telecoms industry, with one of the big five operators, managing the real estate deployment of EVDO/1X across the USA -.... I see the future now......the question is whether or not a snowball effect will take place with the TV domain or remain in obscurity whilst the .com cannibalises all of the streaming TV hype that is to come..........

I build web sites, but wish to monetize the domains I own while they sit there, awaiting development. Some of these may wait on me for years. In the meantime, if I get a good offer on a domain, I will be more than willing to look at selling it.

My main money comes from a merchant site, and from developed web sites that are promoting specific niche products for different merchants.

In regards to .tv, though, I am taking a bit of a risk. I believe very deeply that this extension has the potential for inordinantly large returns, and as such I have budgeted a disproportinate amount of funds towards '.tv's. I am sure that the experienced domainers here would not allocate more than 5% or so of their monies to .tv, still I am going to follow my instinct.

It's served me fairly well in my past online ventures, so I'd rather follow it and screw up than hold back and miss out.

My goals for the rest of the year are to develop one new merchant site - with an affiliate program - a couple of simple sites for my family, and three quality .tv sites. Anything beyond that is icing.

WATCHMYWIFE.TV - (STUNNING CONCEPT HERE - KEPT UNDER WRAP FOR NOW)

Consciously, this name attracts and repells- but subliminally! - I don't know what it is, perhaps it's a streak of voyeurism that lies below the surface that I am not in touch w/ an a regular, conscious level- or whatever- but there is something about that name that got an immediate reaction. (I'll spare you the details, and no, it was sensory in nature and the feeling was good but it wasn't that! And, it wasn't someone's real-world wife, either- it was more a broad, generic expression of "wife".) :lol: Anyways, I can see where that name would have some strong development possibilities. Personally, I wouldn't be the best one to, actually, work w/ it but I can see where someone who was comfortable in the medium, (at least the medim as I saw it), could do quite well w/ this name. Well I, just, have this to say about that!
1) Did I, really, post that? My goodness! Maybe I'm bipolar, after all. (mmm...or was it schizo-something, that he said I was?) Err...Give me a moment. I'll have to ask one of the other guys about that.
2)I have no idea what I was saying, either, but won't remove the post because, just maybe, someone might be able to decipher it and I wouldn't want to miss the oppurtunity to gain some insight.
3) Yes, oft times, I am. But, than again, oft times I am not. Much depends upon mood, setting and the company I am keeping at the time. What are you into?
