Hey all

I'm something of a nutty canuck speculator who figures that, at worst, if I don't sell the domain< i can keep it for a few years then sell it for the seo value of having an old domain.
But I also have some cool ones and an interest in .ca, .tv, .co.il, and others :)

Cheers

Hey Apex,

Thanks a lot. Have you had any success holding something for a few years and selling at a profit? Was the profit worth the time?

Not really, I am pretty new to the domaining world. Just bought my first domain this June. A friend reffered me to this site initially, and I never get into domaining until recently.

Welcome to NP - but be aware of how you spend your money. It's better to invest in what you know will make money than what you hope will. Ask questions, then ask some more. Read your butt off and then ask some more questions. Then you should do alright.

Ask yourself if you only want to buy and sell, or maybe buy for parking revenue, or buy for developing then selling/ad revenue - or a combo there of.

Since you are Canadian I would suggest focusing in on the hundreds of available great domains in .ca sitting there to be registered. I'll give you one free hint - places like NP and DNF etc are great for finding great domains - look at what sells very well in .com, .net and even .org and see if it is available in .ca. While this does not always hold true, for someone like you who is willing to speculate somewhat and willing to sit on their investment, you might make out like a bandit.

Brilliant advice wb! Added to your rep. I'll be sure to keep an eye on the popular sales threads :).
