Here we go again..

Not only Flippa is hosting another auction that openly violates TM and therefore their own policy...they are even sending it out in their emails!

WELL DONE FLIPPA!!!!!!

https://flippa.com/3500921-dell-wiki

And I really like what they wrote in the low right corner :

" Does this auction violate the Flippa Terms and Conditions?

If so, anonymously report it here."

I mean...what is Flippa there for? Just to take listing fees and success fees?

Put your points in bullets, don't write eBooks.
Thank you for your " how to write posts 101 "

Some users are getting what I see is unfair treatment as they are getting free credits for appraisals.

You took in fact apples for oranges as this is not what the actual problem is.
Please see :
Number three you are not Flippa user so you might not up to date with everything

but believe the way people are venting about the problems

I will be very pleased to see you brandish your sword when other threads of this nature will be seen on NP other wise I will have to think it's personal.

a company who made a lot people succeed beyond what they could.

A quick reminder that Flippa is NOT a non for profit organization and they made millions THANKS TO people like me ( and all other domainers obviously ) who use the platform.
You miss one fundamental point : domainers would do just as fine without Flippa but Flippa wouldn't without us.

I don't see GoDaddy helping you out.

Well...they do.

I agree with David Walker.
The title is about a "possible" tm issue. Then progresses to the above statement and more. Please show data to support this comment. I don't think it's true.

I have never paid a dime to list on Afternic, Sedo, Aftermarket, GoDaddy auctions ( a part from the 5$ membership )

" possible TM issue "..lol..seriously?
dell.wiki and AppleTV.org? possible TM issues?
I will reply with FLippa's words..
What email did you receive? This auction clearly violated TM and should have been removed.

Also, if I can ask, why haven't you addressed the other users who posted comments like mine? Just asking

So they removed it. So you're just mad that it was listed in the first place. People miss things. The other marketplaces you listed, have trademark domains all day long. So does this forum. Why do you still have your domains there? For a place that is a joke and there just to take your money, I figure you would have left.

"Flippa is the only marketplace where YOU PAY TO LIST A DOMAIN"

Imagine if they didn't, how many more crappy domains there would be. Then we would have people complaining about that. Once those free listings from appraisals meter out, it should help that part out some.

Sedo charges to run an auction and takes a commision. If Sedo does do this, and they do, then Flippa is not the only one that does it.

Why haven't I addressed orther users? Same reason I haven't addressed other users in every other thread I have ever responded to.

When I saw this thread I clicked on "report button" (available on that listing page) and received email within just a few minutes from Flippa that the listing has been taken off. (Definitely a faith restorer.)

So I think commenting isn't the right way. "Report it".

Are you all guys friends with them or what?
People have bashed Sedo Afternic and GoDaddy hundreds of times here on NP and I haven't seen any of you going around being so upset about it.
I haven't been offensive or anything. Just shared my point of you and had a discussion with Flippa itself.
I have also posted this if you didn't see it

We all are people who deal with domains on a daily basis here on this forum.
We all list them on different marketplaces and we are aware of pros and cons of each one. This is not a courtcase against Flippa but the fact that you fail about the basics sometimes leave me speechless.

Many other marketplaces automatically block anything that is a possible TM and the owner will have to go through a manual process to be able to list the domain. It makes me wonder why Flippa doesn't have anything like that in place.

You guys think that it's something against you but it's not. At the end of the day is your loss every time you disappoint those who are keeping your marketplace alive.

wow...what an enlightening explanation.

From Sedo page :

There is no up-front fee to apply to list your domains in one of Sedo's Broker-Managed Auction Events, such as the monthly GreatDomains auction or special auctions.

If a domain's reserve price is met during the auction, and the domain sells, Sedo charges the seller a commission fee of 15% of the winning bid price. Commission is based on the gross price and a (minimum fee applies)

All domains sold as part of a Broker-Managed Auction Event are backed by Sedo's Secure Domain Transfer and Escrow Service, included at no cost.

You're bashing for missing something. If they have it in their terms (as they do) and they don't handle it after it gets reported, then you would have something. There's making a point, then there is going overboard. Again, that auction was handled pretty quickly after it was reported. That's why the report button is there.

Yes, my opinion is that they don't have enough systems in place to avoid it to happen so?
Am I not allowed to share my mind?

Share it, not lose it.

So this thread just confirms that works.

And with the emails they send out, they just need to start double checking it. Not a big deal.

HAHAHA...great response from someone who might have lost it longer before me.

Also...why are you wasting your incredibly precious time to comment on the thread of someone who, you say, has lost her mind?
You should be investing it in way more profitable ways.

Question: what filters are there? Is there any way to automatically check a domain for a TM prior to listing?

The best thing to do is have a checkbox next to the submit button that states, "Here is a link to the TM database. Check to see if your domain is trademarked. By clicking here, you are confirming there are no TM issues and that should we find this to be infringing, we WILL REMOVE YOUR LISTING WITHOUT ISSUING A REFUND. 'But I didn't know!' won't work."

I am not a technician so I am don't know names or anything.
What i know is that platforms like Sedo or Afternic automatically prevent listing of domains that may contain TMs. They must put in their systems the words that will be blocked...but again I don't know.

If the domain is blocked by the system then you have to manually submit it via email ( SEDO ) to be verified.

Yes. it was pretty clear you care for Flippa...

I think you do or you wouldn't get this bent out of shape over something minor that was handled and still have your domains listed there. Your first post, big text, extra exclamation points because a TM got thru. This is like some big deal to you, minor to most people.

Why do you think they have this:

Does this auction violate the Flippa Terms and Conditions?

If so, anonymously report it here.

?

But hey, take it a few more pages.

If so, this really should be implemented

So do you, or you wouldn't get this bent out of shape over something minor that was handled and still have your domains listed there.

A) what I do with my names is none of your business
B) as a customer I am allowed to point out what I don't like or I find not efficient
C) it's because I am a customer that I'd like the platform to work better
D) It might be minor for you, it's not for me..thank God we can have our own opinion.
