I've found that I'm always judging the domain names I see everywhere...on TV commercials, newspapers, business cards, radio.
Especially some new startup putting on a commercial with a bad brandable and I'm like "Kind of a weak brand, I wonder where they bought it and how much they paid"
Or if it's for an infomercial for a new product and they use GET(ProductName).com - I'm like "What a cheap company, they couldn't just buy their productname.com...amateurs"
One time I sent an email to this company that used a 3-hyphened domain name that was advertising an ebook about "Stellar marketing strategies" and claimed to be internet marketing experts. I emailed them and said "How are you going to teach me stellar marketing when you are using blah-blaaah-blah.com, you broke the first rule yourself."
Another time a telemarketer called me asking if I'd like to receive a free gold investment kit info package, I asked what their website was and then asked for the owners email "because I'm selling GoldInvestmentKit(dot)com"
I started writing down the really bad domains from local businesses I hear in the media as potential end users.
Just thought it was funny how domaining really does become a part of your day-to-day life like that popular catchphrase says "Domaining is a way of life".
Anyone else do this?
