Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Are there monitoring tools !!?
Either way, it's inadequate, and not remotely what you'd expect from a company with that kind of budget. There's a GoDaddy Status page, where Afternic has a permanent checkmark, as if everything is fine. It's window dressing, nothing more. Testing and monitoring need to be far more comprehensive, across every layer, including full endโ€‘toโ€‘end flows that mirror the actual customer journey all the way through checkout into the GoDaddy cart.

Can you suggest to them to put a monitoring tool to discover new extensions (tlds), They could find .now extension and add it to their list !

Shouldn't your monitoring tools have alerted you well before it reached this point?
But seriously, is there any bulk check tool where one can run occasionally to check on landers if there are issues, loading time etc.?

GoDaddy wants to know too...

This isn't something an average end user can realistically do for free. It requires testing from all CDN anycast regions, testing far beyond the lander itself, and continuous checks of the backend and transaction flow. There are established, commercial setups for this, but GoDaddy isn't exactly known for taking that route, and that extends to security monitoring as well, where it has already been sharply criticized by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

https://www.scworld.com/news/ftc-orders-godaddy-to-establish-a-comprehensive-security-program

Under the order finalized by the FTC, GoDaddy was:
  • Prohibited from making misrepresentations about its security and the extent to which it complies with any privacy or security program sponsored by a government, self-regulatory, or standard-setting organization.

Well yes. Getting our liaison to mark it Done is the easy part. Getting it through the GoDaddy organization, and actually resolving all these longstanding issues, is an entirely different story. This stands in stark contrast to @Atom.com, which outperforms Afternic on this front.

Nothing personal, James. You know I'm speaking to the machinery, not the man.

He, the person, chose to mark it "done" on behalf of the machinery. That's a personal choice.

@GoDaddy Unfortunately, this problem still persists. I sold a domain yesterday, and payout is scheduled today, but in the meantime the domain isn't visible in any overview. Have the developers been made aware of this issue, and is a fix planned?
Still unresolved. Why not just fix it? @GoDaddy

I'm not able to check essential details in the meantime.

GoDaddy will block anything that moves fast enough to check an entire portfolio. They also block DomainTools screenshot grabber and other variants. Prove me wrong LOL post one that works.

GD has not yet reached a point that they block themselves from themselves.

Give it time.

All the glitches and errors sure seem like they're trying.
