By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

With that said, this relates to commissions. A lot of providers put withdrawal fees in a different bucket - more of an expense that needs to be reimbursed. To an extent I can understand that, so long as any such fees are transparent. But I don't know how they handle this.

I've searched all over the site but couldn't find anything specifically relating to this. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

Namecheap says goodbye to Afternic domains in the registration path.

So everyone using Afternic Nameservers cannot have their domains listed on Spaceship SellerHub, as they require not just txt verification but also EITHER Nameserver updates OR A records / CNAME record

It's goDaddy's fault. They played games with Spaceship not allowing them without egregious fees to become an Afternic FT partner. So NC decided to create it's own powerhouse. They played with fire and lost.

This would sound reasonable if they hadn't slashed SEDO as well. So everyone else is playing games and Namecheap is the victim?

So everyone using Afternic Nameservers cannot have their domains listed on Spaceship SellerHub, as they require not just txt verification but also EITHER Nameserver updates OR A records / CNAME record

(Although this still pertains to Afternic, any follow-up discussion would be better suited to the dedicated Spaceship thread)

To list any domains on Spaceship's SellerHub that are currently configured with Afternic nameservers, you can temporarily change NS to those of your registrar, set TXT records, and use the TXT verification method like you're used to with other marketplaces. Add your domains to SellerHub (Bulk CSV upload is the easiest), wait until TXT verification is successful, and then change back to Afternic NS.

There are other "hacks" possible as well. Here's what I've done to list all my domains on SellerHub, without changing NS.

- All my domains currently have Atom NS configured
- Atom offers a handy feature where you can add custom DNS records, including TXT records
- Use the 'TXT' / 'Sedo' option, even while it's for SellerHub, and enter your unique, account-wide, SellerHub TXT record
- Add your domains to SellerHub, and wait until all domains are successfully verified using the TXT verification method

when I click add names.. 50 at a time.. no csv... I know for fact a few month back when I added my whole folio this way

u know few month ago I could click add domains.. put 50 of em.. and if I had doubles I clicked verify later.. and it nicely removed doubles so I can add new ones. now its buggy and not working.. I click verify later and it keeps all namsa and I can never click submit

can u fix? ty

interestingly, after listing on spaceship now your domain gets shown twice,

once from Spaceship with full list price
once from Distribution Network / Afternic / Sedo with lowered price

Prices are not updating. I make a change to the price at afternic.....nothing happens at godaddy. If I remove a price the price still shows at godaddy.

Is afternic having checkout issues, have had a domain on hold for a week now, their payment has gone thru, but is stuck in some kind of verification step, holding it up.................... another customer I forwarded to checkout there said they can't? Anyone else noticing a slowdown, or checkout, or cart issues?

Maybe GoDaddy is reconsidering such a mistake?

and meanwhile the "Domain Insight" box on reg path still displays "Visits: 0" for every domain. These stats DO NOT even "echo data at GoDaddy Auctions".

Afternic is having a major screw-up for me. They sold a name yesterday that I have owned since 2020, no lock, FT active status, removed it from my account and now ... are requesting auth code from me. Since they have removed it from my account, I cannot give it to them, not mentioning that they shouldn't be requesting anything for an FT name. I even thought that I might have not renewed it and had to look through my bills to see that it was renewed dec 2024 till dec 2025. I also checked my latest GD db downloads in May and June and the name is there.

I messaged TA and my account rep. While waiting for my rep get to office, TA already responded that ... I can still find auth code for a locked name ))) Had to remind again that the name is not locked and that they have taken it already.

I need to do a major audit of my names vs my older databases to see if anything else has been removed. If they can remove a name with a sale and act like I am supposed to have it, they can probably remove without a sale as well.

Even worse, this is another clear indicator that the smooth link between afternic FT, partners, shopping carts, names moving between accounts etc. is broken. My May/June sales have been very abnormal, with many sales coming in batches at certain days and no sales for few days in a row. Something like 50% of June sales coming in 5 days with the rest of the 25 days having the other half. The share of LTOs have been way higher than the norm as well, potentially showing that demand is there when manual process is involved and amounts are smaller, but the auto and larger amount transactions are broken. E.g. 5 out of 6 last transactions, before the one Afternic/GD took from my account while asking for Auth Code, were LTOs. Normally, LTOs are 1/4 to 1/3 of my sales, not 5/6.
