Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

@GoDaddy I've been unable to log in to my Afternic account for almost 24 hours. After clicking Log In, the browser just times out. I have tried different browsers, and also cleared history and used incognito mode, with no success.

Anyone else having this issue?

No problem here (login with username, not GoDaddy).

Now suddenly it's working again, like magic. I think I need to complain more often... :-P

Edit: Back to not working again! Very disappointing...

Afternic has too many problems that they shouldn't have.

For instance, I tried to locate some information on the esoteric Self-brokerage and the blog page is broken on Afternic. I got a 400 Bad Request Error.

Had to check a third-party website (DNW) for the information I needed. Maintain your websites.

Now, I've changed my Lander Settings under Account Settings. But it's reflected in existing domain listing automatically. It should!

And when I tried to use the Select All feature to update ALL the existing domain listings, I keep getting an error message.

It's a disaster!

Look into this.

Afternic has many issues. But for BIN domains, under 5k - no other player comes close. Afternic is a clear winner there.

You may want to try other platforms for generating leads/price requests/offers etc. I don't think Afternic's focus is this either.

anyone else getting lots of leads lately all "qualifying" status but goes nowhere? Switching more and more to BIN landers to avoid these bots.

Afternic dont have Make an Offer? I set up BIN plus Make an Offer, but when buyer click on it it showed "Get a price in less than 24 hours" wtf??? And after complete all details he just need to buy domain for fixed price, not possible to make an offer??? So we agreed at $1560 but than in his cart it is $1,863.80??! WTF???? Why price is higher than my asking price?

Create an Afternic Custom Checkout Link and pay only 5% commission

My buyer agreed at $1560 and je want to pay $1560 final price, what can i do??? It looks so spammy for buyer.
DON'T use their site (GD reg path) if you found the buyer. Create an Afternic Custom Checkout Link and pay only 5% commission
Same thing happened. I create checkout link but he get higher price that we agreed

Ok I know taxes is not problem here, problem is how to see FULL PRICE including tax on the sale page

This issue has been noted several times on here, and it appears that with a 5% sale, GoDaddy bumps the final price up a bit.

so if I want to to sell for $1560 I need to create checkout at around $1256, because $1560 is 19.47% lower than $1,863.80

Are you sure that number doesn't include 'the bump' + tax?

Either way, I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere, as several different marketplaces offer the same kind of low-commission deal when you bring the lead.

Thanks for trying Afternic's Pricing AI! While GoValue is one of the metrics used, it also considers previous offers received at Afternic, leads (as you mentioned), and how your domain compares to similar active listings.
There's still significant room for improvement.

First, this tool partly relies on similar listings and their pricing on the platform. However, many of these "comparables" are just my own domains with prices that I've set, which distorts the tool's effectiveness.

Additionally, if you list everything as BIN and don't use Afternic for the landers, you will receive very few offers or leads through Afternic. Despite this, the presence (or absence) of leads and offers is always included in the evaluation. For BIN only domains, and domains which have landers elsewhere, its influence on the overall evaluation should be minimal, if not entirely excluded.

Hi @damance,
It looks like you're redirecting your names to our internal landers (example attached). If you'd like to utilize Make Offer, we recommend switching to Afternic's nameservers, and selecting "Custom Lander" as your lander.

It's working now.

The only problem is that sales and leads have dried up completely, like the Sahara desert. I've turned on Boost to see if that makes any difference...

@GoDaddy, I am using the Custom Lander. I changed my default CL to BIN+LTO+MO.
But it doesn't reflect when I'm adding new domain names. It still defaults to the BIN+LTO Custom Lander.

And I have to manually change them in every domain name I'm trying to add.

Look into this.
