By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Wow, do AN brokers also relay insults? The seller asked me to say "Fuck off, moron, I hope your business fails."

You don't have to be an attorney to not pass on empty threats, just professional.

I have this one domain, D-Trump .com

and I had it listed on DAN, and supposedly it should have get synced with my afternic account, after DAN shut down,

but to this day this domain is not being listed there.

I don't get why; I never changed the nameservers (which where DANs), and many other domains had no problems at all (being synced),


the that's the only domain, that is pending sync, since MONTHS.

All time it was that "Sorry, d-trump.com is unavailable" stuff, and most likely I lost some nice leads here...

Just saying.

Are you talking about Godaddy Estimated Value? I see that and Similar Domains Sold. Didn’t know if Pricing AI is new/ different

I'm seeing the new AI Pricing feature. I checked a few names of mine to see what it would suggest, and it did provide some useful insight into pricing the domain names. I don't agree with everything it came up with, but it could be useful when negotiating with a buyer and my asking price happens to fall within the suggested AI pricing (I can send the AI suggested reasoning/pricing to the potential buyer in that case)

Exactly. If this is coming from a large multinational like Google or Microsoft, and the domain term is in use by them, then definitely forward the potential legal threat.

But some low-IQ yahoo claiming that a domain "not in use for 3 years" is some type of legal precedent for stealing it - just flush his ass down the toilet and close the transaction.

After a few months on Afternic, and making my daily sojourns to the dreaded Dashboard while comparing my closing rates there vs at Dan, this has now become my worldview:

Afternic is truly the graveyard where potential domain sales go to die.

Hi, I think dev team should be looking into this since it's possibly related to .ai's recent migration to Identity Digital. I checked Godaddy's transfer system yesterday and it hasn't been updated. For example, it was still showing that .ai transfers don't carry a 2-year renewal which isn't the case anymore.

Good data with similar domains sold but some of those comparable are decades old.
Suggested price: low

Like any automated tools, use it for the data it provides.

We'll share more about this later in the week, but this is the first implementation of AI into the Afternic user area! It's available for 50% of accounts at the moment while we continue to experiment.

@Afternic Not sure why the "Views" column totals under Portfolio change when I sort by that column???

Here’s how it works

Understanding Pending Review Domains
At Afternic, we’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of listing integrity. When domains are flagged for review, it’s part of our quality assurance process to ensure that all listings are current, accurate, and ready for immediate sale.
Domains may enter the pending review status for several reasons:

• Domain Expiration: The domain has expired.
• Registrar Transfer: The domain has been moved to a different registrar.
• Updated Registrant Information: Changes have been made to the registrant’s Whois details.
• Afternic Platform Syncing Delays: Delays in syncing your listing with our wider platform.

This systematic approach helps to protect both buyers and sellers, ensuring that domains list on Afternic are verified and ready to buy.


The New Self-Serve Process
With the new self-serve system, you can now process pending review domains quickly and independently, eliminating the need to reach out to support (except for compliance reviews).Here’s how it works:

1. Identify In Review Domains: If you have domain names with an “In Review” status, a refresh button will appear next to them.
2. Quick Resubmission: Simply click the refresh button to resubmit your domain listing into our system. The resubmission process can take up to 24 hours and can be attempted only once within this timeframe.
3. Bulk Resubmission: For those with multiple listings in review, you can select various domains and click “Resubmit Listings” in the footer toolbar to process them in bulk.
4. Automated Integrity Checks: Once resubmitted, our system will analyze the domain name and perform necessary integrity checks to ensure it meets our listing standards. Approved domains are automatically reactivated and made available for sale.

We’re excited to launch the first iteration of the Pending Review self-serve system, but we’re not stopping here. New features and updates will come to the system, further reducing your listing management time. You’ll be able to read about those updates first through the Afternic blog.

Also, when I change a .si domain to Afternic nameservers, the registry is giving an error. Something about AN servers not matching something on Namefind servers. If anyone has experienced this issue with .si domains and fixed it, let me know what you did.

@GoDaddy - I recommend utilizing some of the resources that were wasted on creating this tool to update the Godaddy Valuation tool...for the sake of accuracy.

It hasn't been updated for nearly 2 years. That's a tremendous amount of missing data.

Although it's nothing more than a novelty, given it's heavy integration into the platforms, one would think the updates would be frequent.

Even as a novelty, without accurate data/numbers, This "Pricing AI" is a total fail.

This looks to me like politicial bias, to be honest...

Why else would the name D-Trump .com be in pending sync status since months.... (as the only one)?

Totally incomprehensible to me.

But ok, I will switch nameservers...

It just would had been a lot better, and user friendly, to say it straight as it is from the beginning,
"we won't list the domain"...

Given a new era of crypto is about to open up, godaddy when they took over dan integrated bitpay, why not move that over to afternic. I know many crypto holders would spend more on domains, when they can fund straight from their wallets, as bitpay allows. Namecheap, Dynadot, and others offer it.

Also, when I change a .si domain to Afternic nameservers, the registry is giving an error. Something about AN servers not matching something on Namefind servers. If anyone has experienced this issue with .si domains and fixed it, let me know what you did.

This is a well-known issue with ns1/ns2 that Afternic still has to fix on their end.

As a Seller, you can workaround this by setting ns3/ns4 or ns5/ns6 (recommended for all your AN landers, btw).
