Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I think it's about time I took a break from Afternic, as I really have no idea what is going on over there.

A broker took a week to confirm an offer, then I made a counter and then today it switches to "Confused" and all the transaction data has been wiped. WTF?

Having absolutely no control of a negotiation that literally takes forever to progress beyond the very first step, and then mysteriously blows up, is taxing on my nerves. I have a couple of open negotiations I will see through to the end, but after that I'm going to wait for the much-anticipated 'self-brokerage system' to appear, and I don't care how many emails I get from GD asking me to submit a price.

On that note, what happens when you "Unlist" a domain at Afternic? What page shows up in a browser when you type in the domain?

Just sold another one yesterday. Transfer was done yesterday and receive the money today.
Complete transaction in 48 hours.
This is what it supposes to be.:xf.smile::xf.smile::xf.smile:
That's the problem. It's not consistent. I've waited a week for my money.

I just set a new personal record for the time elapsed between submitting an offer and having a broker forward it to the potential buyer.

20 days.

And people wonder why I'm irritated with Afternic...

@Afternic @GoDaddy What's up with .ai transfers?

It shouldn't take so long. Not even a day. Not even half a day...

Auth code provided, transfer out just doesn't happen - not initiated.

@GoDaddy @Afternic

The saga continues. The ball is in your hands now. My recent doomed sale. Will the buyer cancel it because of your malfunctioning system?
I have encountered such a situation as well. The transfer authorization code was definitely correct, but Afternic prompted an error! There were also times when the domain was not in the lock period, and entering the authorization code did not automatically initiate the transfer. It was necessary to contact the Transfer Agent (TA), and then this process took a very long time.

Thanks for taking the time to share. This definitely sucks... Sorry you had to go through this.

Domains from Spaceship that sold: Has Afternic ever accepted a push instead of a transfer out?

I believe there is no such option!

I've heard that Afternic regards Spaceship as a potential threat and has no plans to enable fast transfer permissions for Spaceship, which is truly unfortunate.

Hi, @GoDaddy i'm aware of the status and broker name.

My question is, is there any difference between a lead created by "Afternic System" vs "Godaddy W"
@GoDaddy

Any idea ?

Why do leads sometimes get created with "Qualifying" status, and sometimes with "Negotiating" status - in both scenarios the buyer has made a valid offer.

I just can't believe a Domain Transaction system in 2025 does NOT have a "Accept Offer" feature that immediately notifies the buyer and seller, and at least partially automates the deal.

Whenever I accept an offer on Afternic, I may wait for days or a week for the broker to finally let the buyer know, and then another few days to advise the seller that the deal is closed. It's just an ass-backwards, totally-manual process from 1920, and we're now in 2025.

Or at least we're in 2025, as I have no idea what year Afternic thinks it is. For all I know, they're currently booking tickets on the Titanic.

The saddest part is they had it all there at their fingertips, no work required other than changing the Dan logo for a GD logo.

Or leaving Dan as an active marketplace until GD instituted even the most basic self-brokerage and transaction features at Afternic or GoDaddy.

Instead we've got this ongoing mess.

I'm tired of seeing "Buyer indicated the domain was priced outside of what they wanted to spend" without having any clue of prospect budget or how negotiations unfolded
