Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I changed pricing about 24 hours ago on a few names. Just checked right now and Namecheap still has the old pricing. Dynadot has the updated prices.

The old price will be shown on Namecheap for at least three days. As for GoDaddy reg path, it will show the new price for the first day, and then after 36-48 hours it will return to the previous price. And only after approximately 72 hours the prices will be shoiwn correctly at all registrars.

I've checked this hundreds of times already. Check GD pricing after 48 hours. It will show the previous price.

This is true. You can check it yourself. I've done this hundreds of times. And some users have already pointed this out. Lately I just stopped writing about all the problems here. They won't change anything anyway.

This is hilarious - I got another one of those idiotic "$0" offers yesterday so I just ignored it. It's always a tire-kicking hobo phoning in because he doesn't want to pay even the minimum bid.

So what happens, I get 3 auto-emails from Afternic to "set a price" and just now, a personal email from a GD broker telling me to set my buy price as they've got a "very interested buyer".

My reply: The buyer doesn't sound very interested with a $0 offer.

And worse, they're chasing after this $0 hobo while my other negotiations languish in domain limbo.

@GoDaddy

When a domain gets sold, a notice appears on the main dashboard.

There's a button "View Listing", and it goes to the overview at https://www.afternic.com/sales?filter=AWAITING_AUTH_CODE

However, the filter doesn't work, and the URL shows ALL past sales, not only those awaiting auth code.

Suggestion

From the dashboard, link directly to the individual domain that needs action, like: https://www.afternic.com/transactions/<unique_transaction_id>/details

Show attachment 268520
Thanks @Future Sensors, the "Awaiting Auth Code" card is used for single and multiple sales awaiting auth codes.

For multiple sales, the card would read "Start the transfers to get paid $x,xxx for the sale of X domains" along with a list of those names.

However, the "View Listing(s)" button should filter directly to those names that require an auth code. Thanks for sharing this, and we'll get it resolved.

@GoDaddy, some names that were sold months ago are still appearing in your reg path search.

Please fix.
Hi @Vivere,
We're aware that some of these names appeared in the search path; they've been taken care of, but please feel free to DM us if you've spotted any new examples.

@GoDaddy, I’ve encountered an unpleasant situation several times after raising prices on all my domains listed on Afternic with Fast Transfer enabled. A few weeks later (and once even 3 months later), my domains were sold at the old prices, which were lower than the prices set at the time of sale.

Afternic support claims that these domains were sold 2-3 weeks earlier, but due to some issues with their partners, the payment was delayed, and as a result, the domains were transferred weeks later at the old prices.

I plan to increase prices on some domains soon and want to avoid repeating this situation. I kindly ask you to publicly provide a step-by-step algorithm for increasing domain prices that will prevent the situation where domains, listed with Fast Transfer enabled, are later sold at outdated prices and transferred unilaterally due to delays in processing by your partners.

Thank you in advance!
Hi @robosapien,
Your price changes should update quickly at GoDaddy and then within a day or two at Afternic's partners. From what you've described, it seems the previous issue was related to a partner's payment processing rather than price syncing.

However, once you've made your updates, feel free to reach out to Afternic's support team via live chat at afternic.com/contact so they can verify everything for you.

Hi @ARCCLOUD,
As mentioned earlier, we'll consider adding .now to Afternic once it's available through GoDaddy's registrar pathway. Currently, there's no ETA for this.

This is true. You can check it yourself. I've done this hundreds of times. And some users have already pointed this out. Lately I just stopped writing about all the problems here. They won't change anything anyway.
Hi @Timkh,
Once you've updated your prices, they should remain consistent across GoDaddy and Afternic's network. If you're experiencing issues, we'd appreciate seeing some current examples.

Just for example.

TravelScandinavia (dot) com.

I changed the price from $2995 to $4995 about 60 hours ago. In the first 30 hours, GD reg path showed the new price ($4995). Then I checked again about 8-9 hours ago. And it showed $2995... And only now I finally see $4995. At the same time, Namecheap still shows $2995.

Just 8-9 hours ago I could have given you at least a hundred such examples. But now, as I said, the prices are correct, since more than 60 hours have passed. In the interval from 30 to 50 hours, prices return to their previous values. I already informed you about this earlier, but no one answered me...

@DN_Hunter, I have a favor to ask of you. Check your domain in GD reg path whenever possible. You will soon see the previous price. And please report it here

@GoDaddy you missed one: delete the names you do NOT own anymore. that should have been number 1.

I have a bulk file I uploaded from 2 days ago with about 200 names.

I Just spot-checked 10 names, and all had the correct prices in GD Reg Path (meaning I go to GoDaddy.com, type in a name to register, and then it pops up as as a "Premium Domain" with my correct BIN Price).

Namecheap has my OLD BIN prices
Dynadot has my NEW BIN prices

If 24 hours have passed, Namecheap will show the previous price for 1,5 to 2 days. Regarding GoDaddy, yes now you see the new price. But after about 12 -20 hours you will see the previous price again.

I'm not seeing. The prices I update in Afternic seem to stay there. I've checked updates from 2 days ago, from yesterday, and even from 4 days ago. All of the prices are showing correctly in GoDaddy and on landing page

I mean I checked prices updated in AN for the last few days -- and they all are correct in GD Reg Path and also on the landing pages (NS set to AN nameservers)

It’s strange because in my case all prices return to their previous values after about 30 hours. I'm talking about GD reg path. And then after about a day they become correct again. In the last 10 days I have changed the prices of approximately 400 domains. And so it was with all of them.

NC is pulling from Afternic, it's probably Sedo pricing.

I don't know what that means. I go to Namecheap, and type in the name and it has the OLD pricing. How does SEDO pricing figure into the picture?

No. This is Afternic pricing. I did an experiment. On Afternic prices ended with 95, and on Sedo with 99. And Namecheap always shows 95 at the end.
