Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Can you DM us with some examples? This is something we can't replicate.

I fixed them all, but the next offer I get I will DM you and leave it as is.

Hi Brad,
Thanks for your information here and via DM. I've followed up with more via DM, and will also sync up with your GoDaddy rep.
I still have no idea what is going on with this. It's been over 6 days since the buyer submitted payment.

I am sick of having to apologize on my end. My only fault is choosing to close this sale via "Custom Checkout Link".

I expect @GoDaddy to reach out to the buyer and explain what is going on.

I have good contacts at GoDaddy with an account rep at GoDaddy & Afternic.

Still, I can't even get a proper status update never mind actually get this transaction moving.

I heard back from my GoDaddy account rep after following up. They are reaching out to Afternic again, trying to figure out what is going on.

I am not sure why this is so hard.

It's ridiculous that I have to spend this much time and energy on a relatively small sale.

@GoDaddy really should be thankful for all the free system testing and feedback provided by people in this thread.

I asked the buyer if they received any correspondence from GoDaddy or Afternic after paying 6+ days ago.

Their response -

No - We haven't received any correspondence from GoDaddy.

So, the buyer submits payment almost a week ago and hasn't heard anything since.

How is this acceptable? @GoDaddy

Godaddy/aftrrnic staff are busy watching their cryptocurrency wallets since BTC hit $88 today!
After correction they will have time to check their emails and our complains .

Good news... Just kidding.

Another day. No status update.

No contact from GoDaddy with the buyer.

I am really not sure how it can be that hard for someone at @GoDaddy to get ahold of someone at Afternic and just be like - "WTF is going on with this transaction?"

is anyone catching any bin sales that are outside negotiations, something feels super off with my bin sales pattern, as there is none, which goes against my norms.

Maybe time to open up the old uni market for investors?

Not me. It has really slowed the past week.

Four weeks ago we asked Afternic to turn off Fast Transfer on xxx domains where they wrongly enabled it. Four weeks later Afternic replied saying they cannot currently disable Fast Transfer.

All it takes to disable FT is for a database administrator to enter the database, select all domains in that user account with FT enabled, then change the value in that column from TRUE to FALSE, or from 1 to 0. Simple. The implication is Afternic/Godaddy have no database administrator currently, which is scary to say the least but explains their meltdowns. Maybe not just domainers but staff are jumping ship - probably working conditions and pay are not good at GoDaddy. I feel sorry for anyone caught in such a stressful mess - it has to be soul-destroying working in a job where no matter what the company can't or won't let you do the right thing and serve customers properly. I do hope the former Dan.com staff have found good new jobs.

As said before, I do not want Fast Transfer on any domains - almost no benefit to me, and lots of risk. Previously you could ask them to disable it on all domains and they did, just some migration bug has now wrongly enabled it on domains, even ones which I no longer own.

I sold a domain at the end of Oct., and transfered already that day, now we did not get payment

Hi @Janoss
There are no immediate plans, but it's certainly something that we could look at in the future.
@GoDaddy Ok, please look into adding this. Since all landers now show CamelCase properly it makes sense for GoDaddy domain search results to show CamelCase too.

Yeah, I would really like someone from @GoDaddy or Afternic to reach out to the buyer and explain what is going on.

Instead, the poor service is putting me in the middle.
I'm curious if the original lander that the buyer clicked showed the "trusted" GD symbol, or you used a different landing page? Do you know if the buyer is a random end user or someone familiar with this industry?

anyone got any updates in lead center in past 5 days?

I've had a couple of updates in the LEAD CENTER each day over the last 5 days. Mainly updating to "STALLED" status -- but a couple were negotiations on price -- and one actually sold yesterday after AN contacted me and we went back and forth a couple of times with the buyer.

Zero BINs for me lately, and it's either been "Confused" bidders or the "min-bid and run" crowd.

It seems that Afternic gets a lot more tire kickers than Dan, as there is no way that a real buyer would bid $1500 and then scurry away at the first mention of a $2300 counter. I even accepted offers of $1500 and $2500, and the buyers ran away.

Afternic: More Tire Kickers than a Car Lot, more Confused than a Psych Ward, and more Stalls than a Pickpocket.

Color me 'not impressed' by the start of my Afternic journey.
