Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Today I tried to bulk update my portfolio using a spreadsheet and I chose "Replace" instead of "Update" because I had some domains to delete. Here's what happened:

- My entire portfolio was deleted except for 70 domains only!
- I re-uploaded the CSV file again and all names were added again.
- More than +100 domains are pending review now, 0 before this update.
- 5 domains Pending sync.
- All my Fast-Transfer statuses have gone.

Not to mention the amount of random errors in different tabs.

@GoDaddy What the heck is going on?!

I have some of my domains listed on Bodis for parking.

I have most of my domains "buy it now + lease to own + make offer" link selected.
When I click the domain link on the parking page, it takes me to a make offer page. How can
I get this link to use the custom page I picked? Thanks Godaddy support
Had the same issue. Bodis offers a URL forwarding feature

I'm getting the following error when clicking on any of the leads

Lead Center ==> then click on any domain name in the list

Show attachment 266050

Same here. All links in the "Portfolio Summary" menu are producing the same error.

I just got an email from Afternic saying my custom checkout link expires in 24 hours.

The domain has been paid for and is listed as "SOLD" in my Afternic account. I am still waiting on the transfer to happen.

It's pretty bad though that GoDaddy, Afternic, and Dan.com (the checkout link) seem to have no communication with each other regarding the transaction status.

Brad
The one I mentioned also had the same, I was sent your custom checkout link is expiring email even though I had already received your funds are on your way email 3 days before it 🤣

can you guys replicate the error

visit https://www.afternic.com/sales/leads

click one of your leads, do you get an error?
Just tried again and got the same error.

However, if I right-click the domain name and "Open Link in New Tab", it works. I am using Chrome -- not sure if the same happens in other browsers.

Earlier today I finally got the domain sold email from Afternic.

I unlocked, and provided the AUTH code via Afternic and nothing has happened.

The domain wasn't transferred. It isn't pending transfer.

I reached out to my GoDaddy rep, who is looking into what is going on.

I don't expect anything to happen over the weekend, so from payment to transfer will be a week (best case).

This custom checkout link has been a disappointing process that reflects poorly on me as a seller.

Brad
Hi Brad,
Thanks for your information here and via DM. I've followed up with more via DM, and will also sync up with your GoDaddy rep.

Error Message every time I click on any of my : Lead Center , Domain Listings , On Hold section.
Basically on everything I click
Hi @Yanosh
We're aware of this, and we're working to fix the Lead Center UI error as soon as possible.

Thanks @DN_Hunter, we're aware, and we're working to fix the UI error as soon as we can.

@GoDaddy Why did you not escalate the case of @bmugford and buyer?
I did. Thanks for your concern.

@GoDaddy Any plan for GoDaddy search path to show domain name search results in CamelCase?
Hi @Janoss
There are no immediate plans, but it's certainly something that we could look at in the future.

Thanks for letting us know, @Maged Khatab. The domains in review will need to be processed by the support team as these are likely to be compliance reviews. Regarding the domains pending sync, these should be processed within 24-48 hours. If they're still displaying "Pending Sync" beyond that, please let the support team know.

We've raised the Fast Transfer status issue with Afternic's team, who will investigate.

Is there a point in time where anything will ever be fixed? Nothing works or stays working. Afternic sucks up all of my time. I am checking, re-checking and checking again. And getting different results each time. The checking is never done.

I did. Thanks for your concern.
My comment wasn't just about your individual efforts, but about the collective efforts within the company to escalate and resolve the issue. What @bmugford described multiple times doesn't really represent an active approach and taking ownership by GoDaddy as a whole.

If you believe this issue was escalated correctly and this is the outcome, then the situation is actually more serious. Fortunately, Brad keeps the buyer updated, which is something GoDaddy should have done themselves.

You're missing the point that @Maged Khatab only wanted to delete some domains this way. All his domains were already present without problems. Now he's stuck with over 100 domains that are in Pending Review.

Thanks. The point was understood, and a practical way to remove the names from pending review was shared. Re-adding the names has retriggered a compliance review. While this isn't unexpected (the system will analyze the names while they're added to confirm they align with Afternic's latest compliance list), this example was shared with Afternic's product manager to assess.

Whether domains were listed normally before or not, godaddy team they have the same copy past reply when they read pending review issue : ( this are Likly to be compliance review ) !

I don’t understand the compliance support staff they didn’t got surprised and noticed the big bulk numbers of domains become suddenly pending review recently for manny accounts after DAN closure !!? They have no sense to recognize unusual things happening and keeps repeating !!??

How about not even letting the domains get to that status? Give that a try, I say.

This whole "In Review" deal is probably linked to some "TM Protection" service GoDaddy (or one of their 'partners') sell to corporations, so not forcing a pile of our domains into review each time we upload would be illogical, as it would lower their profits.

This is like a fox guarding the henhouse, which also supervises a wolf guarding a field of sheep...

Vertical integration, you gotta love it!

I could go along with that if it wasn't just a delete action. Actually no domains were added, only domains were removed. The way GoDaddy handles this technically in the background causes these problems, and guess who is left to resolve it once again? Of course! The Seller, and not GoDaddy.

😄

EDIT - Just to be clear, this is not a dig on James. He's the ONLY one in the GoDaddy/Afternic world that actually helps us.

I could go along with that if it wasn't just a delete action. Actually no domains were added, only domains were removed.

The Afternic system is obviously so archaic that it doesn't recognize that the domains were previously listed (and then deleted by the "replace" CSV update) and views it as a totally new upload, subject to all their myriad rules and regulations.

It actually makes sense on one level, as the OP mistakenly deleted all his domains (except a few) by attempting this method, so the Afternic upload logic probably checked for them and didn't find them in the system, so treated them all as new.

I learned a long time ago that even the base features on Afternic are hit-and-miss, so trying to use one of these features to do the *opposite* of what it was intended to do, is usually going to bring you pain.

Yeah, I would really like someone from @GoDaddy or Afternic to reach out to the buyer and explain what is going on.

Instead, the poor service is putting me in the middle.

@bmugford, I appreciate your dedication in monitoring the entire process on behalf of GoDaddy. Let's hope they compensate you with a reduced commission for the hours you've invested in assisting them.
I think it's reasonable to say that GoDaddy didn't really do much to earn a commission on this sale, not even 5%.

It has caused me a lot of frustration and time wasted, that I would value well in excess of the commission amount.

I would have just closed some other way if I knew it was going to be such a pain.

Brad

I think I found a(nother) bug on Afternic.

It looks like whenever there is an offer on one your domains, that the Afternic lander no longer resolves and pops out an error.

I just got another "Confused" buyer a few minutes ago, and checked the lander, and it errored out. Then I checked some other recent offers and they also errored out. So then I tried a bunch that didn't have any offers and they all worked and properly displayed the Afternic lander.

Next, on those 'offer' domains that errored out, I changed the Afternic lander, saved, and then changed it back to the original lander, and these all started resolving again.

So based on this admittedly limited sample (but at 100% rate of results) something seems to be going on internally at Afternic, where when a new offer comes in, it totally screws up the lander for subsequent visitors.

* It also looks like this bug coincides with domains receiving offers or broker interactions since the recent Afternic meltdown this weekend, so it's likely all connected.

Can you DM us with some examples? This is something we can't replicate.
