Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

My few cents here.

It would be nice to see better sellers profile on Afternic, more developed design at all, and some place for logos, maybe.

Does anyone else have huge number added to โ€œin reviewโ€ in Afternic portfolio this morning?

For me at least I think it is a portfolio display issue as ones I checked still show up with prices when search with TLD.

Presume probably temporary as new system comes online.

Bob
Thanks, Bob. As we switch over to the new inventory management system today, you may notice changes in the domain statuses displayed in the UI. This update eliminates discrepancies and provides a more accurate view of your domainโ€™s status.

For more information, check the Afternic blog.

Can you add them to cart without a โ€this domain isnโ€™t availableโ€ message?

Hi @freety85
Currently, bulk CamelCasing isn't available. You'll need to go to the domain details page for each individual domain to make updates. Your Afternic rep can assist you with this. For your Fast Transfer names, your rep might be able to resend those emails. We recommend working directly with your Premier Services and Afternic reps to ensure your names are active again.
So, in my view camel casing really helps a domain stand out and look better. That could lead to more sales.

It's an unreasonable time drain to expect users to go through possibly thousands of domains one at a time to camel case them.

Bulk camel casing is kind of a core feature that needs to be added.

I have successfully transferred the domain name to the customer since the 19th, until now I still have not received payment from afternic. I have emailed them many times and they do not respond. afternic is a service that despises customers.>:(

I first did the migration and then I was disappointed that none of my domains camel casing transferred over.
So I then deleted all the domains in my afternic account and used the exported domain list from Dan that had all of my domain with camel casing, so I then manually added them (50 max at a time)

Now, I had to price all of domains and the best way to do that was before completing the upload you can price them and add the prices one at a time just by going line by line and not having to open a separate page. It was easier then having to open up each domain in a separate page then capitalizing each keyword.

If you are just doing all make offers then you can just upload all of your domains in no time with camel casing.

It did take e several hours but I love the way camel casing looks on the launders.
So the time was worth it to me but it would have been great if camel casing was carried over from Dan.

Noticed a lot of suggested aftermarket domains in GD reg path if the location in the GD UI is set to UK or other countries different from the US, but very few suggested domains when location is set to the US . Do you notice the same on your side?

Please give priority to add Bulk camel casing !
It is a hassle and wasting of time to do it for each domain manually.

It's this type of annoying stuff that really saps my motivation to make sure my Afternic listings are there, and up to date.

I have many domains not even listed at Afternic because of the hassle it had become between duplicate listings, "in review", and stuff like that.

@GoDaddy needs to make the process as easy as possible. I am sure I am not the only one who lacks motivation because there are so many things that make what should be an easy process a real pain in the ass.

Yeah. The designers of the DAN.COM interface clearly prioritized minimizing the number of clicks needed to achieve your goals. For example, accessing your portfolio in DAN is straightforward: you simply click on โ€œMy Domainsโ€ and your portfolio appears immediately. In contrast, with Afternic, you must first click on โ€œPortfolio,โ€ which then opens a submenu where nothing happens, requiring an additional click. There are countless other instances where tasks have been made more cumbersome, but I canโ€™t list them all here. Surely, this knowledge must be present within the organization somewhere, especially since DAN developers are now part of GoDaddy.

Over the next 24 hours your portfolio is being transitioned from our legacy system to the new backend infrastructure.
Well, the 24 hours have now passed, and I don't have Advanced Filtering or Bulk Search yet.

I have a huge swath that went into review today too. I read your blog and I'm unclear how moving my names into "in review" status provides me a more accurate view of my domain's status. Checking them, they are still live in the GD reg path. Are you basically saying to ignore for 24 hours and then check back and they should/may clear?

@Future Sensors don't get too excited about the bulk search. I have it in my account.

"Search terms can only contain 1000 characters as max" - not good

If I bulk search a list of domains to change prices....and one of them is nutball.sucks. If I own bignutball.sucks it will also show in the search. Be aware as I expected to paste a list and only bring up that list.

Weโ€™re making important changes to Afternic's backend infrastructure to enhance our services and prepare for future improvements.

Over the last few months, weโ€™ve been methodically updating sections of our backend โ€œpipesโ€ to streamline our internal listings architecture. This architecture connects your domain name listings and pricing to our services, including landing pages and the distribution network.

Weโ€™ve already made significant progress, consolidating several backend systems into a new single inventory management system. In July, we took a major step forward by updating GoDaddyโ€™s search path to use this system for displaying aftermarket listings. As the next step in our upgrade process, we're updating the "pipes" to the Afternic Seller UI.

Over the next 24 hours your portfolio is being transitioned from our legacy system to the new backend infrastructure. Two positive changes have already resulted from this upgrade:
  1. Advanced Filtering: Now available to all users, enhancing your ability to manage and sort your domains efficiently.
  2. Expanded Export Capabilities: Portfolio exports can now handle up to 100,000 domains, making it easier for large-scale domain investors to manage their listings. Weโ€™re working on increasing this limit even further in the near future.
Once we complete this consolidation across all of the systems it will create a foundation for faster development and rollout of new features.

For example, in the coming months this will unlock the ability for us to introduce self-service capabilities for domains in review, allowing you to address issues directly without contacting customer support. We're excited about the improvements and the foundation this provides.

You can read more about this update through our blog! https://blog.afternic.com/streamlining-our-backend/

Thank you for updating us on this. I hope this new backend infrastructure ends the sync problem and that Afternic landing pages are displayed correctly after this update.

@GoDaddy needs to make the process as easy as possible. I am sure I am not the only one who lacks motivation because there are so many things that make what should be an easy process a real pain in the ass.

I lack motivation because in its current form, it's almost impossible to make sales at Afternic/SlowDaddy.

I have multiple "negotiations" just sitting there doing nothing for weeks but there is no way to interact with them and you are literally forced to wait and wait for the most rudimentary broker update and it's the absolute worst way to sell domains. Afternic has always been slow, but this is something else.

Contrast that with Dan, where I made yet another sale today. I got a 4-figure offer this afternoon, countered higher, and the buyer agreed and paid immediately. The entire sales process took about 5-10 minutes, then an hour to verify the funds, and I'm golden.

This transaction almost made a cry at Dan being shut down.... this is the way a domain sale venue should work! At its very core, Dan makes me money, while Afternic loses me money.

At Afternic I am literally waiting 1-2 days for a broker to even notice I have supplied a BIN price, then 2-3 days more for any further update or movement. Then maybe a week to receive any update on any counter, then a few days more for the broker to send your counter to the buyer... it might actually be quicker to negotiate via snail mail.

How are you supposed to sell domains in 2024 using this idiotic and antiquated system?

Thanks for the heads-up @Bearded Goat. That sounds really frustrating when you expect the bulk search to only show the exact domain names you input, but it ends up displaying similar ones as well. Afternic should have definitely designed this feature better. Itโ€™s disappointing that such a basic function isnโ€™t working as expected. Luckily, I havenโ€™t encountered this function in my account yet, so thatโ€™s one less thing to be annoyed about today!

Sold a non-FT, non-Boost domain at Afternic yesterday, sent auth code right away, transfer complete later that day, got email that funds are on the way this morning ๐Ÿ™Œ
Just wondering, have you received the payment yet ? Or did it say the usual 'we will send you an email within 7-10 days regarding your payment' ?

I got both emails โ€œ1-3 business daysโ€ and โ€œfunds sentโ€ on the same day. Expecting them to hit my account any hour now based on previous sales.

You are supposed to change your strategy and put up a BIN price.
