By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

It's not something we'll be adding soon, but something we'll bear in mind for future updates.

Afternic support doesn't even know the basics of domain names. They just replied to my multiple email support ticket telling me the reason why fast transfer isn't active on my domains is because they are registry locked, since it shows the status "clientTransferProhibited". I had to explain to them that's just a registrar lock you can toggle on and off of a domain., and I have other names with the exact same status that are FT active. In addition, I had to explain again that the domains I'm referring to are already FT active, it's just the status in Afternic that's wrong.

I don't know how much longer I can deal with the bottom barrel support responses I'm getting. Every response ignores all the information from the previous emails and I have to explain everything again and again.

Is it not possible to add domains to afternic through an API or programming way?

This isn't something we offer for Afternic sellers at the moment, but thanks for your feedback. It's something for us to consider adding for the future. We have got some updates to bulk editing in the pipeline.

This was a case where the current owner purchased the domain name through Afternic, and quickly added it to their portfolio before the sales lead closed. This is why they saw the update from the broker. Thanks for sharing it here.

@Afternic @GoDaddy Any plans to speed up payouts now that DAN is closing ? If DAN can payout the same or next day, maybe it's time to do the same at Afternic. Right now it takes 7-10+ days to be paid for Fast Transfer sales to some non-GoDaddy registrars.

We're bringing over new automations from Dan.com to be added to the Transaction Assurance flow at Afternic, which we're excited for. However, Fast Transfer partner sales will continue to require up to 7-10 days for payout under current guidelines, but it's something we'll look into ways to reduce in the future.

Shouldn’t a sale be associated with BOTH a domain name and a seller ID?

If *everything* in a database is only linked via the domain name it opens all kinds of security and bug possibilities.

Thanks a lot @Kyle Tully for writing down what I was thinking too. I didn't feel like bringing attention to another issue anymore. Just tired of all this.

You need to fix your domain ownership verification asap especially for those of us who do not want to use it.

With Dan's extermination I have no intention to use Afternic and its silly booster fees. But I won't play bug-chaser for your incomplete platform. Every instance that one of my domains is listed on Afternic without my authorization will result in complaints across all available media and appropriate reviews.

I just added 7 names to Afternic. The names are registered at GoDaddy and using Afternic NS. All 7 went to Pending Review.

I'm happy to use the verification NS if asked for it. The system rarely asks anymore.

7 for 7 to Pending Review, to me, does not suggest system excellence or smart filtering. The names are varied and none have any TM/IP issues that I can think of.

Given how many issues there are, I don't think that they should be or could be targeting those active users who provide valuable (but ignored) feedback.

It would make me very happy to report how well AN/GD platforms are performing.

The 'In Review' system is terrible and needs to be overhauled or removed. It is a waste of time for the seller and I'm sure it has resulted in some lost sales for domains that randomly get stuck in review for some unknown reason.

Yes, you will not get any email notification either, and only see this when visiting the dashboard.

Already added domains can also enter review for many unknown reasons like just after changing pricing. I've also seen domains enter review then leave review only to later realize myself (without any notification from the platform) that they got completely removed from Afternic. There are so many issues with the review system it is frustrating dealing with it.

Welcome to the club. Just be sure to send Dynanot an email about it. They said they are working on it, but the more people that have the issue the faster it will hopefully get done.

On the GoDaddy side, ask them to rerun integrity checks for all your domains. That will send out FT emails and you'll be able to activate them on Dynadot again. However, in Afternic your names will show opt-in required, even though your names are Fast Transfer activated. I've been back and forth with their support trying to get it fixed, but I have a feeling it's something Dynadot needs to do on their end to fix that issue too.

I checked an assume the issue is at Dynadot. My ticket # is 18464

I recently posted about doing bulk updates would randomly put some names In Review.

But the last 5 or 6 bulk updates have run smoothly without putting any names In Review.

I haven’t added anything new this last week. So not sure if they would be as smooth.

But Bulk Updates for existing names in my account have been great the last few days (nothing going to In Review)

In review has been nuts for me this week. 40+ names popped into review for no reason, I emailed and they fixed them. Next day 14 in review presently. I'm done emailing as all my domains in Afternic/Sedo MLS so when they go into review at Afternic oh well they'll be exclusive to Sedo MLS as I'm done pointing out bugs.

Literally everything I've used just works NamePros Parking, Efty, Atom White Label, Sedo etc... Afternic the only one that's always an unpredictable mess of cross your fingers and hope things work or stay the way I set them. Need the basics stabilized before they try to add new features.
