Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Yeah they're.

Josh's response highlights the issue with brokers not responding to offers.

Yes, 2nd tweet is spot on for what we're discussing recently, indeed.

Thanks for sharing <3

Yeah they're.

Josh's response highlights the issue with brokers not responding to offers.

This is why I prefer to self broker.

No one can pay more attention to their domain portfolio than the domain owner.

GoDaddy is kind of a mixed bag when it comes to brokers. Some have been their for years and are top tier.

Others seem to do little more than copying the same message over and over.

This often includes the classic "it's rare that cash offers come along" message. :)

Hi all,

What does this mean by the afternic broker.

Status updated to Negotiations Stalled

Low quality lead score based on data endpoints - automation only until engagement from inquirer

@GoDaddy - since there are a lot of issues with routine operations from UI (such as repeated login pages), would it be possible to set API access to perform all the daily stuff, for those members who are able and willing to run API calls? I have an account manager /if that matters to determine eligibility etc/, but decided to ask here as it is non-account-specific question...

I contacted Afternic support about a name that I have verified ownership of, and the system says it is succesfully listed, but it does not appear in my account. First they escalated the support ticket, and now after nine days I got this response:

"We are working on addressing the underlying cause of the issue and would need a bit more time to get to a resolution."

It is a bit worrying that they apparently have no idea what is going on. Will they call NASA engineers?

Fun Fact, not. When you create an Afternic account from within Godaddy, your affiliate ID — which is visible in the url of your domain, or clicking on any ads — defaults to your email address.

So, if your email address is user.name, the affiliate ID displayed on all of your domains will be your user.name. However, if you create an acct directly on AN, it alerts you to this so you can pick a different username.

So much for privacy/confidentiality. This needs to be made clear to @GoDaddy customers, even if you don’t give them the option to change it.
@Molly can you DM an example? This is something I've tried to replicate, but can't.

These are the issues I encountered in the past few days:

- For the past 3 days in a row, I have added some domains, updated LTO, and pointed them to Afternic Nameservers, then tested them and all resolved with no issues. However, after ~12 to 24 hours, when I visited my domains, they all displayed the message "This domain is registered, but may still be available". So, I ended up deleting and relisting them again.

- Sometimes when I bulk update my portfolio using a CSV file, a few domains "previously listed" randomly go to "In Review" status right after the bulk update is done. and I end up deleting and relisting them again.

- Sometimes when I add a domain and goes to "In review" status and after it's approved, the very second day it goes again to "In Review" status and I end up contacting Afternic support to re-approve it one again "This issue has been happening for a long time every once in a while".

- A name that was previously listed on Afternic for a different price than mine, after I verified, listed, and tested it, it's working fine displaying the correct price and landing page. However, after ~12 to 24 hours, when I visited this domain, it displayed the old price while the name had the new price in my account! and I ended up deleting and relisting it again.

@GoDaddy Simple tasks like adding and updating domain names have become daunting and tedious almost on a daily basis. Please boost your work on fixing the current issues before boosting your commission!
Thanks for reporting this @Maged Khatab, we'll reach out for more details via DM.

Hi all,

What does this mean by the afternic broker.
Hi @OceanKing
The "Low quality lead score" message indicates that the lead has been flagged by our system as a spam lead. However, automated out-reach is included to provide the recipient with the chance to engage with the Afternic brokerage team.

Hi @tonky2000
At the moment, API access isn't something we provide at Afternic.

Hi @GoDaddy. Thanks for looking into this. I called AN a couple of months ago when I discovered my full name was being shown, but you guys couldn’t care less. Actually, the operator cared, but when I asked it be escalated to GD security & Product Mgmt, it was dismissed.

To replicate this, use a private browser and a new GD acct -> my products -> domains -> Afternic (screenshot) as a new user.

This gets you started with no warning that your affiliate ID is your email address. When I discovered this, I had to delist all of my names, and create a new acct directly from AN (rather than going by way of GD). Hopefully that helps.

@GoDaddy I keep seeing that I have a new message in "Account" section on Afternic: "Please setup a payee account to receive your domain sales payments". The thing is that I had set up payment method since I became a member. When I click on "Setup payee account" I can see my default payee and the second payee that I have, so I don't know why this annoying message keeps showing. I had contacted Afternic and they replied "We can confirm that your account is properly set up and your payment information is filled out correctly." If it is properly set up why do I have to see this every time I log in to Afternic?

@Afternic
new bug, when a LTO is canceled, I request to push the domain on my godaddy account.
the domain now appear here : https://www.afternic.com/sales?status=awaitingAuthCode

new bug, impossible to delete domains by 500

new bug (maybe), I cannot use filters from July August, neither bulk search with my account.

new bug : need to login every few minutes, 12 hours cookie would be nice instead.

bug for years : impossible to upload big CSV

lack of features :
impossible to bulk edit LTO periods, even asking support manager.
impossible to bulk edit landers, even asking support manager.
impossible to sell using LTO in case of ICAAN locked, whereas DAN can.
no API for editing easily things.

Dan has all things working + many more, why dont you use it instead for afternic listing ? You always tell us that you improve everything but it would take years to be at the level of dan if you dont work with good coders.

@GoDaddy, what’s your payment policy for sold domains that are still within the 60-day lock period?

Afternic has had bugs for the almost 11 years that GoDaddy has owned it. You would think a company with GoDaddy cash could have Afternic coded to perfection before trying to implement Dan features into it. So it's basically like adding a new engine to a car that was in a flood and is an electrical nightmare held together by wiring splices and electrical tape with a foul mold smell.

Continue working on a site with decade long bugs and domains that go to "In Review" status for no apparent reason or smack a GoDaddy logo on Dan and burn Afternic. I know what I would have done. 🔥

I was able to edit landers yesterday. Five hundred per page posed no problem.
