Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

i am struggling to find a way to 'change case' of one of my existing listings.

what if we have a change case option next to the domain name in 'edit listing'.

afternic.com/domains/example.com/details?view=settings
(Lander Settings, Display Name)

For some reason it's not possible to set the casing just via afternic.com/domains plus selecting the domain & "Sale Lander".

for past few month on fone I was able to click add names. put 50 in there and then if duplicates I could remove them thru verify later button. now it doesn't work. thet all stay there and I have to manually remove before adding the list

this makes this add 50 option fully useless. ans I don't want to use sheets on fone.

plz fix add50 option as it was before ok???

@Paul Nicks I just don’t get why the first thing GD/AN ask a potential domain buyer, when they click on the Self Broker “make offer link” is….do you want to buy this domain”?

Seems there should be better language like…do you want to make an offer on this domain? Some may freak out and think they are paying full price for the domain. If they get past that, then they get the third degree survey! Just let them make their offer. I want to stay with GD/AN, but the roadblock for sales is making it hard.

If I remember right with Dan, they just clicked the link to make an offer. If they make an offer, it can be decided whether their finance choice like credit card or whatever is good or not. Competition is coming hard if common sense buy options are not changed to make it one click buy or make offer. Potential buyers need zero friction to the process.

Also, after signing on to the domain club and selling our domains without the help of a broker, commissions should be 5-10% lower for self brokerage. Thanks Tim
Why is it I get make offers when using GD/AN "Brokered-Leads" but few when using "Self-Brokered"?

Is it me, or is anyone else getting "make offer" leads and sales when using Afternic's Self Brokered?

You may realize this, but self-brokered leads only go if you use Custom Landers with Make Offer (or Make Offer plus other possibilities) active. If you use the Request Price lander, they go to the usual Afternic agent channel.

There is also a setting under Account that you need to click "Send all new make offer leads to me."

@GoDaddy Does your system assign domains from different price ranges to different brokers? I've noticed that domains valued around $1,000 are being assigned to one broker (name on pm). Please confirm whether he is an active broker and whether this isn’t some sort of error. Since April 20th, about 7 leads for various domains have ended with a “stalled” status after three messages from broker side, each without any response from the buyer.

I'm excited to announce that I will not resume using Afternic landers until the platform has adequately addressed essential issues.
What are you using instead of afternic?

I'm having the same issue. I think it's a shame that they lack basic stuff like a decent loading time, a decent checkout process, plus they are charging VAT to the customers, which increases the price at checkout and kills conversions.

They shouldn't be charging VAT on the sale price unless you(the seller) are VAT registered in your country. I've never understood their "fees and taxes" and dispite asking multiple times nobody from GD has been able to explain them to me either.

Yes I have just noticed this and I believe it's killing my sales. What should I do

Currently, all my BIN landers are hosted on Atom.com (I'm exclusively using BIN), yet the domains are also listed on SedoMLS and Afternic FT.

I was already making up my mind to do exactly the same. Now I'm even more convinced. Thank you!

Are they charging VAT on the entire sales price?

Yes and my company is vat exempt so they shouldn't charge it. On the top of that, whenever I sold a domain with them they just paid me the BIN minus their commissions, without even mentioning the VAT surcharge. So idk what to think tbh. How would you handle this issue?

I'd contact them and ask for an explanation. They shouldn't be charging VAT on something they didn't sell. The name is yours. The profit they make is the commission they charge you. That's the service they provide so if they were to charge VAT on anything it should be on the commission and chargeable to you the seller, not the buyer.

Their books must be all over the place. Say you sold a name for 1000 bucks, they charge you 200 bucks in commission and charge the seller 200 bucks in VAT. Now they've made 200 bucks from your sale and charged 100% VAT.

eBay for example don't add VAT to a listed product. They charge the seller a listing fee and commission on each sale that has VAT added to it and payed by the seller.
