marketplace Afternic cancelled my sale without initiating transfer

I sold a domain on 28 may through afternic, Provided the auth code to afternic. Transfer never initiated for domain but afternic TA agent said that domain transfer failed and domain is under 60 days lock. Domain is not under 60 days locked they did not initiate the transfer. They were saying they are working on transfer domain to buyer but yesterday sale cancelled with note: Transfer failed due to 60 days lock.

Today i just moved out that name to another registrar to make sure 60 days lock and domain transferred successfully. Lost the sale

Bizarre. Obviously, it's in their interest to transfer the domain (no transfer: no commission). A while ago, I contacted them asking what happened if a domain of mine that was under the 60-day lock happened to sell (I was wondering whether it was worth to list them shortly after registration) and this was their reply:

Our Transaction Assurance team can use the push method for domains that are locked; please note that can only be established by them at the time of the sale, therefore what we can advice at this time is to list the domains and in case of a sale, the Transaction Assurance team will further advice upon the transfer method.

Sounds like you were a victim of a typical GoDaddy Glitch.

Next time something like that happens, contact GoDaddy/Afternic EVERYWHERE. Use every available option to reach out to them—NamePros thread, NamePros DM, Twitter, Phone Call, email and a personal dm/tweet/email to Joe Styler.

If you reach out through one medium, you may end up dealing with an overstretched Customer Support that has no idea what you are talking about.

In cases like this, you need to bombard them from all angles.

Thanks for sharing your experience - I didn’t know that could happen.
I’ve been using Afternic for a long time and haven’t had issues like that so far, but it’s clearly important to know what to do in such cases.
