Hi!

I am curious about the affect the registrar has on a domain's value. It seems to me that the most popular registrars among npers are godaddy, namecheap and 1and1. So does this mean that np'ers and other domain buyers are generally vary of other registrars? I can only buy domains from resellers in my country. These resellers have a lot of the important features desired by domain buyers such as free domain push, full featured control panels etc. But I wonder does a domain registered through them have a lower value than one registered through other registrars?

Thank you for your opinion

No, where the name is registered has nothing to do with the value of the domain name. It only affects the convenience of transferring away. This is especially true of any decent name with value above reg fee. If someone likes a name with inherent value, the registrar is irrelevant to value. Tied only to transfer issues.

IMO Carlton is correct for domains with 'real value'.
In some cases I would pay less, or stay away, in order to avoid "yet another account with a new registrar".
