I am just getting into the idea of developing my own pages. I am very interested in designing (building??) web pages and so on. I just went through a basic tutorial at W3 Schools (Link) and it seemed to be very helpful but I know I couldn't build a decent page with just basic HTML!!!!

What I would like to know is what should I spend a lot of time trying to get to know, what are some things that would really help me early in the stages of my learning? If you have any advice for someone that is really eager to be able to build please put it here!!! Also references to previous threads would be greatly appreciated. I can give NP$ if you would like!!

PM's are great and so are basic replies. Thanks so much to anyone that helps me out.

(to management....i have this posted in multiple forums, if there's any problem with that please leave one!)

Hello
I'm in starting stage too
you should start learning in this order HTML, CSS, PHP though learning nowadays HTML involves some CSS, don't exept to become a pro in few weeks, read a lot and PRACTICE a lot, becoming a good web designer is not as easy as it seems, though there are lot of ready templates for sites I don't like using them, because I need to understand(i'm curious by nature) everything what's going on in there.
W3 Schools is good also check out:

hope this helps a bit
