Advice For Someone that Wants to Build?!

I am just getting into the idea of developing my own pages. I am very interested in designing (building??) web pages and so on. I just went through a basic tutorial at W3 Schools (Link) and it seemed to be very helpful but I know I couldn't build a decent page with just basic HTML!!!!

What I would like to know is what should I spend a lot of time trying to get to know, what are some things that would really help me early in the stages of my learning? If you have any advice for someone that is really eager to be able to build please put it here!!! Also references to previous threads would be greatly appreciated. I can give NP$ if you would like!!

I think you should first of all read a bit about Photoshop. When you design the stuff in there and slice it nicely you will get a skeleton page outputted from it.
Can search for more info on "Photoshop slicing"


After that you can use some PHP stuff to make header and footer files.
Can refer to a small basic tutorial at: Simple steps for making your first website

Then it is just content filling up and uploading to the server.

You will also need to learn CSS, and possibvly JavaScript.
