A new twist to transfering out of G-Ddy

Registrar's don't like to transfer away domain names. A new twist to GoDaddy's "Transfer Request Confirmation" email:
GoDaddy.com received notification on 9/9/2005 that you have requested a transfer to another domain name registrar. If you want to proceed with this transfer, you do not need to respond to this message. If you wish to cancel the transfer, you must do so before 13-Sep-05.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a GoDaddy.com customer -- and encourage you to reconsider transferring your domain away. Our 10-point value plan says it all (https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/pledge.asp?prog_id=GoDaddy&isc=gdbb36).

GoDaddy.com delivers superior value. Here's how:

1. Guaranteed renewal price
2. Risk-free, money-back guarantee transfers
3. More FREE, value-added services with every domain
4. Consistently lower prices
5. Best-in-industry live customer support, 24/7
6. Fast, easy bulk domain transfers and registrations
7. Just-right, affordable hosting options
8. Superior domain search and management tools
9. Fierce protection of your personal information
10. Unique, valuable and innovative software and services

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Follow these steps to CANCEL the transfer:
To ensure the safety of your information, login to your account from the GoDaddy home page (instead of clicking on unidentifiable links, pop-ups, etc.). This will guarantee that your information is secure and encrypted.
1. Go to godaddy.com
2. Click on "My Account"
3. Enter your log in name or customer number and password, and click "Secure Login"
4. Select "Pending Domain Transfers" from the "Domain Names" drop-down
5. Select the domain and click on "Accept/Decline"
Your information is protected by a Go Daddy SSL Certificate that's secure and up to 256-bit encrypted.
I've often wondered why these steps come under the heading:
"Follow these steps to CANCEL the transfer:" and no mention is made of the fact that you need to follow the same steps to ACCEPT the transfer or GoDaddy won't release the name to a new registrar and the transfer won't complete. Perhaps they have changed their policy, but I have had transfers fail in the past, despite the assurance that "If you want to proceed with this transfer, you do not need to respond to this message. If you wish to cancel the transfer, you must do so before Da-Mo-Yr."
Regardless, the safest way to proceed and to be assured that nothing will "slip through the cracks", is to go immediately to your account and accept the transfer out.
that is quite tricky, some people may unknowingly cancel the transfer
Hi Kenny. Man, there you go again making me homesick for LA. (The attraction/repulsion syndrome-heavy on the attraction ATM). Ahh...An LA Aside
Ok. Where was I. GoDaddy would get much higher marks and would be up there w/ the best, in my book, except for these tricky little gimmicks. Still, several notches up from NameSkewer and 1and1=0.
But selecting accept/decline won't make a difference in accepting the transfer? This might be why my buyer keep complaining the domain cannot be transferred to his NameCheap. Ahh this is bad.
