I want to transfer a domain registered in Registerfly to Godaddy.
I paid to Godaddy to transfer it to my account in Godaddy.
I initiated transfer from my godaddy control panel, then owner of the
domain got this email saying this.......
----------
1. Go to godaddy.com

2. Click on My Account

3. Enter your log in name or customer number and password and
click Secure Login

4. Select "Pending Domain Transfers" from the Domain Names
drop-down

5. Select the domain and click on "Transaction ID and Security
Code Required" in the Status column

6. Enter the Transaction ID and Security Code contained within
this email and proceed

-------

Problem is he does't have account with Godaddy, how can he log in to
godaddy control panel?

The domain should be in your pending area...is it?
you log in to your account and enter the Transaction ID and Security
Code Required" which should have been sent to you.

Problem is.....Transaction ID and Security Code was send to current owner of the domain, he has his account with RegisterFly not with Godaddy. Godaddy didn't send Transaction ID and Security Code to me.

Looks like you did it as a push. Have them setup a free GoDaddy account.

No...I want to get transfer it TO my account.

The phraseology of that GoDaddy letter is confusing and misleading, to say the least. w/o going into that aspect, what you need to do is get the id and transaction codes from the current registrant- they are in the email he received. Than you go to your account w/ the code, and follow the instructions that are in the email.

Mmmm...Thanks, I will do that.

2003- don't cancel it, don't get confused. I had a name transferred from my account to a godaddy account under the same circumstances as yours and rec'd the same email that the current registrant of your domain rec'd and completed the transfer. RickyG, I think you might be misunderstanding the situation.

yeah, godaddy's transfer procedure sucks.

I had sold a name recently and the buyer instigated his approach through afternic so as to ensure his privacy. He had a godaddy a/c, the name was regged with godaddy yet they dont have a simple push system the likes of which enom have.

To do a simple internal push you have to input all registarnt details and email etc and the buyer wasnt willing to give me these.

So i had to invent a new registrant, email the oush to myself, open a godaddy a/c, receive the push and then hand the entire a/c over to the new buyer...

What a pulaver......

Sorry if this is off topic

They send almost the same form letter to the outgoing party, (as if the outgoing is supposed to initiate transfer), that they send to an account holder, who is having a name transferred in and needs the codes to Accept the transfer. Confusing.

Letter: (vb code [QUOTES]aren't working for some reason w/ this paste of their email):

Re: Transfer of [example].COM

When I contacted Godaddy, they say...

He may want to send you the codes, if he does not want to create an account with us. Our apologies for any confusion that this may have caused.

Funny thing is, even if he does create an account with them, the names aren't being transfered to his account, there will be nothing showing up in Pending Transfers-Accept/Decline, in his account, and there is really nothing that he can do w/ the codes. However, the codes can be used in the account that is receiving the name, which, as you indicated, has already paid for the transfer. If the transfer had not been paid for, and you had not initiated transfer to your Godaddy account, than, the owner would need to open an account, pay for the transfer, and than push it to your account- maybe someone else can shed some more light on this, but as far as I can tell, it seems that GoDaddy is just being a little bit screwy w/ this.

I wouldnโ€™t open an account. I would see If you can cancel the transfer/push to another GoDaddy account. If you or he accepts the push, you might be locked into keeping it at GoDaddy for 60 days! I just did a push and it went like you described above. I accepted the transfer and entered the trans codes. It DOESNT show up right away in your account. Give it a bit and it will be there.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. The transfer codes showed up in your account because your account was *receiving* an inner-registrar push.

2003m2003 has asked how he could successfully transfer a name from an outside registrar to his GoDaddy account. This is not an inner-registrar transfer- there is no "pushing" going on, in this case.
I want to transfer a domain registered in Registerfly to Godaddy.
I paid to Godaddy to transfer it to my account in Godaddy.
The, (my), preferred method is to have the name pushed to my account at the current registrar. That way, I have immediate control over the name, and can, than, make the transfer to my registrar of choice and pay for it in a one shot deal, w/o a time lag. Ownership is automatic, the seller is out of the picture and does not have to deal w/ paying for a transfer to the buyer's registrar or become involved w/ the codes that are required when the buyer initiates transfer away from one registrar and into GoDaddy. It is a clean and secure procedure for both parties.

Having not chosen that route, the fastest way for 2003m2003 to accept the transfer and get the name into his account, is to get the codes from the notice of pending transfer email that GoDaddy sent to the current registrant->go to his account, -> Pending Transfers-> Accept Transfer-> enter code in fields-> checkout-> completed transfer-> voila! . If the buyer's intent is to make a quick turnaround sale, than why not just keep the name at the current registrar and avoid the inter-registrar transfer hassle, altogether? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never heard of 60 day hold being placed on a name after a push is made to a new account within the same registrar, unless it is a new reg and 60 das hasn't elapsed from the time of the creation date.

This is interesting....domain owner did internal push in the Registerfly, then I got the code which Godaddy sent to current owner (who is me now at registerfly) of the domain and enter them in my Godaddy account. Seems it working and now it is 'Pending Current Registrar Approval' status.

Now the problem is I paid Godaddy for transfer which include renewal for one year. Domain is expiring within few days, might be before it come to Godaddy. What should I do?, should I pay again at RegisterFly to preven it expire? When I check RegisterFly control panel expired date shows as July 2006, but when I check WHOIS it is July 2005 . :-/
