Transfering a domain out of GoDaddy, help.

Recently I got a domain from a different owner. This domain was registered with GoDaddy since 2003 and pushed to my account as soon as I bought it.

Now, it is 7 days after the push, and I am trying to transfer the domain to NameScout, a different registrar. Although, GoDaddy halted the transfer, and gave me a "transfer failed" notice, with this explanation:

GoDaddy said:
The transfer of *domain*.COM from GoDaddy.com to another registrar could not be
completed for the following reason(s):

Express written objection to the transfer from the Transfer Contact. (e.g. -
email, fax, paper document or other processes by which the Transfer Contact has
expressly and voluntarily objected through opt-in means).

What exactly does this mean? Did the previous owner fax GoDaddy that no transfer in the future can take place? I wasn't sure what it meant, and I'm still not sure, so I called GoDaddy tech support.

The technical support wasn't too sure on exactly what is going on. In conclusion, they told me that I have to wait 60 days in-between transfers. I was on the phone for 20 minutes, and even though I didn't agree, I just said okay and ended the conversation since I didn't want to deal with the tech support anymore.

But why exactly did it fail? It can't be the 60-day transfer period because it was never transferred prior to this day. The last change of ownership was merely an account push, and I have transferred domains from other registrars in the past soon after an account push. Also, the reason they sent me for the "domain transfer failure" doesn't seem to be anything related to any 60-day period, which I know is not possible.

Could GoDaddy have a 60-day period even after an account push? I find that hard to believe.

So I am asking NameProers to help me out, and tell me what exactly may be wrong, and what should I do now?

Are you sure you don't have the domain lock setting on?

once the name has been pushed to you, the previous owner has no future say in the details of the domain. I would wait a few days and then try again.

pushes will work instantly from user to user at godaddy, but that domain will have to sit for 60 days in your account before it goes to a different registrar, all attempts to transfer elsewhere will fail until 60 days have passed.

No, it was the GoDaddy's enforced policy, which sets a 60 day transfer-lock period once you edit any part of your WHOIS information. Therefore, if you edit your name in your domain contact information, you have to wait 60 days before you can transfer it out.

I've searched it, and it seems as a way for GoDaddy to keep your names with them for a longer period of time. They're smarter than one can think.

Thnx guys for trying anyway.

actually the push is considered an edit as far as godaddy goes so you would still have to wait 60 days anyway, when you accepted that push it had a little box you checked that explained it can't be transfered out for 60 days, leave it alone now and in 60 you can transfer it out, if you keep updating contact info it will restart the 60 days, this message brought to you by: E4L

that is correct, you still need to wait for 60 days. But you could still transfer to anyone within gd, just not outside gd.
