Almost 1/4 of the NNN.us were reg'd by a man in Switzerland?
Well not just any man, but in fact....

Oh and yes, they remain in his portfolio.

This isnt to spark debate over where he is from as much as how did he grab 22.5% of the NNN's in one day?

Some veterans may remember in 2002
Harvard conducted these studies:
Survey of Usage of the .US TLD

Number of .US Registrations / Proportion of .US Registrations
(among .US registrations with all contacts outside the US)
US Citizen 3392 / 15.6%
Permanent Resident of US 751 / 3.5%
US Organization 1373 / 6.3%
Foreign Entity or Organization with Bona Fide US Presence,
Regularly Engaging in Lawful Activities in US 12766 / 58.7%
Office or Other Facility in the US 2848 / 13.1%
No nexus data available in WHOIS 609 / 2.8%

Thats a lot of foreign/ bona fida. I wonder if the %'s have changed much, the quantity has for sure.

.US Registrations to Non-US Registrants, with domain listings
Silverback, #1 in this cat went for the pr0n it appears.
I ran his list, almost all available now.... the list looks like it was assembled by very "anxious" young men.

To the other extreme, this guy reg'd some beaut's of which only one is avail "newgroups.us", and I'm guessing that was a accidental typo. He sold off eight (highlited) which as you can see probably covered his investment, many years of re-reg'n and at the very least, a new pair of shoes:

abortion.us, agents.us, animals.us, animations.us, anorexia.us, areacodes.us, astrology.us, babynames.us, backgrounds.us, bedandbreakfast.us, betting.us, bikinis.us, britney.us, cameras.us, carparts.us, carrental.us, cartoons.us, cats.us, cdcovers.us, chatrooms.us, cheatcodes.us, cheats.us, checks.us, clipart.us, clothing.us, codes.us, computergames.us, computerhardware.us, contactlenses.us, contacts.us, cracks.us, cruises.us, curling.us, death.us, debt.us, decorating.us, dictionary.us, diets.us, digitalcameras.us, disease.us, diseases.us, dogs.us, downloads.us, dragons.us, dresses.us, ecard.us, ecards.us, electronics.us, engines.us, entertainment.us, eroticstories.us, euthanasia.us, exchangerates.us, familytree.us, farms.us, firsttimehomebuyer.us, fishing.us, freeclipart.us, freedownloads.us, freegames.us, freegreetingcards.us, freemusic.us, funeralhomes.us, gambling.us, gardening.us, genealogy.us, greetingcards.us, hairstyles.us, healthinsurance.us, hockey.us, homebusiness.us, homebuying.us, homedecorating.us, homeevaluation.us, homeimprovement.us, homeinsurance.us, horoscopes.us, housebymouse.us, househunting.us, houseplans.us, housesforsale.us, humor.us, hunting.us, joke.us, jokes.us, laser.us, lease.us, lifeinsurance.us, lingerie.us, lovepoems.us, magazines.us, millionaire.us, mlslistings.us, mobilehomes.us, monsters.us, motors.us, musicdownloads.us, musiclyrics.us, new.us, newcars.us, newgroups.us, nexthome.us, nosyneighbor.us, paint.us, peoplesearch.us, pics.us, poems.us, quotations.us, quote.us, realestateagents.us, realestatelistings.us, realtors.us, recipe.us, recipes.us, recreation.us, relocation.us, resume.us, resumes.us, roadmaps.us, roms.us, screensavers.us, sexualhealth.us, shoes.us, smallappliances.us, songlyrics.us, studios.us, tattoos.us, televisions.us, usedcar.us, usedcars.us, videogames.us, videos.us, wallpaper.us, wholesale.us, womenshealth.us, worldmap.us, zipcodes.us

Nice list there Mr. Lucero... and you are... Canadian?
To be fair, the company is located in Niagara Falls now.

.US Registrations by Top Registrants

Top Registrants being the operative words here kids.
Dotster sitting on top of this list at the time, but as I scan down the list... I dont recognize very many of these Reg Houses (Registrant organization). I do recognize a couple of Registrant Sir names however. Not to imply anything directly at anyone, but I wonder if just one or two of these companies were formed with self serving agendas.

I guess my point in all this boils down to...
What the Hello Hana happened?
Who was in control of the process?
Was this brother in law heaven?
Between the "New" Reg Houses, and that stat I showed up the page a bit, the Bona Fido's snatching up 12766 names which was 58.7%, and at least a couple of those could be considered "Premium", the regular Joe didnt stand a chance, what do you think?

Any verifiable updated information or stats would be welcome.

Peace,
Cyberian

GD's backorder system is pretty much worthless if you are trying to backorder domains that are at GD, BR, or WWD. All the expired domains from GD, BR, and WWD go to TDNAM regardless if someone has them backordered.
Stupidly, that is why I backordered them, because of the fact that they were the registrar and thought I would stand a good chance of catching them. :|

I would have at least liked a little notice that they were going to move them to TDNAM, which they claimed they sent. :(

Impossible to back order any NNN or LLL anything with GoDaddy. All will go to TDNAM auction.

Howdy to newbie...

Possibly, or...

The names were surrendered/seized for not being a US citizen per the NEXUS terms.

Or, simply has not renewed yet. That's the option...can still renew even if you win the domain at auction.

bah I think it`s pretty nice to see that .us registry is useless as Eurid has been with the .eu landrush

at the end domain business is really still a wild west

names surrendered or seized delete immediately (or so i thought) so this must be a case of non renewing

tho i wouldnt be surprised if he renews the lot at the last possible moment, he's just teasing us! lol

If he does renew, it will cost him a fortune. Assuming all 225 of his expired (which I don't believe there are 225 of them), it would cost him $18k to renew them.

Woa... this is odd. It'll be interesting to see what'll happen to NNN.us prices over the next few weeks!

Isn't that $1.8k, not $18k? :)

It's $80/domain once you are in redemption, so it would cost $18k to renew all 225 (assuming all 225 were in redemption).

If anyone can bring some facts to light here, please post what you know for sure and can be verified.
I'm on your posted list there 3 times Ken. I'm 100% US and everything I did was completely legit and just involved some brainz, money and hard work. Having put in months of effort, it kinda ticked me off to see some of the scams pulled by both individuals and registrars. I have yet to see a land rush that wasn't gamed by ICANN accredited registrars and some of the same people getting awards or doing keyword speeches at the domainer conferences.

Lay the questions on me, I'd be glad to answer what I can. What do you want to know?

Wow, Fonzie. Thanks for the heads up! I just looked and saw that there are currently 199 expired auctions for NNN.us domains. I'll be bidding on a handful of these only, but I sure would like to know how they all finish.

why would you invest in NNN.us rather then LLL.us ?

My question is genuine since I don`t have any .us ( I can`t) .

For the same reason I invest in NNN.com as well as LLL.com. I see much value in both.

512.us

I saw 512.us change nameservers last night from GD to Sedo. That is really odd since they all have the same expire date.

They're all gone now, as in 'renewed by owner' (not me, sadly).

It would be interesting to find out whether GD allowed the owner a discount on those hefty redemption period charges.

i think it would have been normal renewal fees, i dont know exactly when the $80 fee kicks in but i think it is later than then
