2 character domains in obscure cctld's

Is it worth regging LL and NN domains in obscure cc tlds?

Is there a market for domains that have a yearly renewal fee of 35 to 45 bucks.

I personally don't think so.

Country codes, Popular words, Etc would probably be the exception, but again depends on the ccTLD to a large extent.

Now - not much interest. I have several that I bought when I was just starting, have kept them out of obstinacy, I guess. Mine are .LA and .VC, renewals are $30 - 35 at Dotster.

In the last year I have been getting offers for one of them - always the same one. Several were mid $$$, at least it would be a profit.

Long term - well it could happen. There are only 676 LLs, 100 NNs. Only a limited number of extensions offer them and new offerings, be they new extensions or old ones that decide to open up their CCs, will mostly want mega-premium money for them.

Right now most registrars cannot handle two character domains. Cpanel needs a special plugin to make a website on one. Most domainers are barely aware they exist. The auctions of Com Net and Org CC domains, which I understand are coming, could change all that.

CC domains, regardless of the extension, are very rare. Sometime they may have their day ----- or maybe not.
