13 Yr Old Girl Accused Of Killing Family

A 13-year-old girl is on trial in Canada for murder, charged with killing her parents and brother last year for opposing her relationship with a man almost twice her age.
The girl and her then 23-year-old boyfriend were arrested after her mother, father and brother were found dead on April 23, 2006, with multiple stab wounds in their Alberta province home. The boy also appeared to have been strangled.

During the trial, which started this week, prosecutor Stephanie Cleary read to the jury an email written by the girl, 12 at the time, to her boyfriend a month before the killings, local media said Tuesday.

"I hate them so I have this plan. It begins with me killing them and it ends with me living with you," the email said.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing is nothing new.

They are free men now. Disgusting.

I challenge anyone to read that case and not to feel either sadness or rage. It is highly disturbing.

Oddly, we know the names of the Murderers, despite them being under the age of 18 at the time. Special Circumstances made the judge release their names. You rarely see this in any Murder case today committed by a Youth, even after conviction.

This is in the news these days up here in Canada. This took place about a year ago, I believe, and shocks me to this day. It's extremely angering and depressing too. Hopefully, if she indeed is guilty, she will get her due punishment. It's times like these when I question the severity of punishments and if they are severe enough ... .
