I am not clear how long but lately some big name cooperative based organizations in this region have gone to using the restricted .coop ngTLD. Examples (all from western Canada where I live)
vancity.coop (it does redirect to their .com at least now, but they are beginning to use the coop in promotion) They are a huge credit union. They have half a million customers and 59 branches in this area of Canada
modo.coop This is a car share operation that mainly operates in Vancouver and Victoria and a few other cities (I am a member). They are directly using coop extension, not redirecting. Back in 1997 when they started they were the second car co-op in North America and they have more than 20,000 members currently.
bc.libraries.coop Again they operate directly from the extension, not as a redirect. Interesting use of the third level domain. I don't know the organization well, but seems to be an umbrella for public library workshops etc.
I also have noticed the
.church being used in updates to several Church websites in our city. Decided not to list them here, not sure if it would be appropriate, but if you do a Google search using the site:.church in search can readily find those in your own area.
Have a nice day everyone.
Bob
