If google uses the .Google TLD to force businesses to migrate over to their extension to be listed in SERP; what exactly would happen?

Would the world flock over to .Google or would the world revolt and turn to another search engine.

They have wanted more control over the internet, this would be a way to do that; offer .Google with Google hosting and preferred SERP placement.

It would either kill every TLD or it would kill Google search.

Would they dare be that 'ambitious'?

The best use of any company TLD would be for disposable campaigns , but people will still mentally default to .com if they keyword is more memorable than the TLD.

What will any company do with their new TLD's other than enhance eMail security, give them away for free, or use them in throwaway campaigns.

Thoughts?

It sounds like; to swim in sand ocean instead of water for Google.
Seems drastic & may result as huge jolt to either loss or profit side for Google.

This would trigger an anti-trust action (like Micro$oft forcing people to use their 'browser').
Also, they would be shooting themselves in the foot: people use google because they find relevant content. Google cannot afford to have less data to show than their competitors.

Agree.

I was surprised to see my smartphone pre-loaded with Chrome though. It did include the "browser" alternative; which I don't use, but the Chrome icon was on the home screen whereas you had to add the browser one if you wanted to use that. It all looked so familiar. Except with the case of MS, there was no alternative "hidden" that you could choose from in the beginning...

Yup, no way this will happen due to anti monopoly laws among other things.

Also did you see that the EU parliament voted on breaking up Google?

Google will be fined billions if they do that.
