Thanks. I hope Mixed Reality works for you – I know it’s a poor mans Merged Reality, but hopefully you can get a few sales out of it.

I can see a name change coming?

KingslayerMergedReality

Or you could call yourself

"MergedReality (.) com" - You paid to own that privilege ;)

Lol

I think 'Mr KingSlayer' has more of a ring to it ;)

Well if you end up making a fortune on that merged reality domain you own we might be calling you:

Sir KingSlayer

Or

Lord KingSlayer

Or just shorten you're name to 'King' lol

I have to laugh at your persistence, MR is definitely a selling point but if you think the coming world of 'Augment Reality' is going to ignore such a useful device then I suggest you do some more research.

@doubleU

Sorry if it came across as though I am trying to protect the "MR" term and if it also came across that I need to be persistent. I hope VR, AR, MR, Holo and a few other terms all bring us domainers some great ROI because I am invested across a diverse portfolio myself.

I wish everyone the best of luck! Investing in VR, AR + MR is a smart thing to do imo so in no way am I trying to put any keywords or tech down.

Honest truth is I am a good guy, I was just trying to potentially help a few people out because the press AR is getting at the moment due to the buzz surrounding "Pokemon Go" is distracting from the tactical approach many big companies are starting to take behind the scenes, two examples being Microsoft & Apple. This is not what I personally want to happen/not to happen, just an observation based on the trends I am seeing happen behind the scenes.

Microsoft are taking another approach which is not as you put it "but if you think the coming world of 'Augmented Reality' is going to ignore such a useful device then I suggest you do some more research".

Robert Scoble and UploadVR have great access to this behind the scenes information and strategies the industry is taking so I am going to use some important quotes from a live conversation this weekend (as this information is pretty current) to try and show this is not my view, but a move that companies such as Microsoft who we were talking about are taking. The point is companies are changing their focus and marketing strategy to mixed reality because it combines both VR + AR! (VR + AR = MR). Companies are starting to understand that marketing themselves as Mixed Reality is basically the smart thing to do because they are saying our device can do VR, AR & MR:

Rob Scoble: Microsoft's execs already told me they are betting 100% on mixed reality (with its Microsoft HoloLens product). The strategy at Microsoft is "Cloud + Hololens." That's it. The entirety of a $455 billion company is betting on mixed reality.

Rob Scoble: Apple is going to bring us a mixed reality iPhone and, within a couple of years, mixed reality glasses to compete with Hololens and Magic Leap.

Apple's entrance into this new world is like when IBM came into the personal computing world. It is that important.

If I were at Facebook I'd get the entire Oculus team to pivot. Toward mixed reality glasses.

This whole basket of things also puts into context the statements that Tim Cook has been making lately which basically are: AR is more important than VR, even though VR is important.

Mixed reality will do all of this.

Most of us will be wearing mixed reality glasses three to four years from now, whether from Microsoft, Magic Leap, Apple, Amazon, Meta, or something from China (expect to see new brands evolve, just like DJI is now the biggest drone manufacturer).

Rob Scoble to Fred Davis (UploadVR): I have been quite consistent. MR=AR+VR. :) Now you are getting it.

Fred Davis (UploadVR): Robert Scoble, completely agree with you that MR=AR+VR. In fact, that's the very definition of MR.

User: VR is a final tech - one that won't be replaced by something more advanced. Rob Scoble reply: Almost Gerald. If you say "mixed reality" then I will agree with you.

User: What's the difference between AR and mixed reality? Rob Scoble reply: Much deeper interaction with the real world.

Little Rock Tech Fest 2016 Hololens Demonstration. It mixes VR & AR to give you Holograms.

I hereby claim all VR devices that have hit the market so far to be little more than gimmick's - no new tech used just various phone type screens placed in front of the eyeballs.

It's no wonder Intel/Microsoft are going the AR/MR way with hololens !

Totally disagree with this. VR is totally different to Holo/AR/MR etc and serves a different purpose. I and millions of other people around the world are already enjoying VR and it's only going to get bigger and better.

Basically what I'm saying is the VR that's recently been introduced at consumer level is not very impressive, just watered down versions of what real VR could achieve in the distant future and not next xmas.

In any case I see the VR niche is just ridiculously over registered, with most of the best VR domains registered in the mid-late nighties.

I do agree with you on this.

Everyone was trying to get to the VR market first and in doing so the tech definitely does need refinement.

With the acquisitions that have been happening lately the technology will just get better and better.

As far as the best domains being registered many years ago, yes that is true. But it is still achievable to grab some nice names in the aftermarket if you are willing to spend a little more to gamble on the potential future ROI.

I agree that most VR games so far released for the PC are of a very low quality, but that's due to developers trying to make a quick buck before the big developers step in. The hardware itself is great but will obviously keep improving.

In terms of domain names, yes all the best keyword stuff was registered years ago, but companies and websites tend to go for more creative, brandable names.

Google is working on a mixed reality headset, a new patent reveals

According to the Patently Apple report, Google’s new patent reveals a technology that allows the user to be in a VR gaming environment and yet still be able to see their hands and to control game play controls via their smartphone.

This technology where the wearer can see their hands and other objects in virtual worlds is a mixture of virtual and augmented reality, and it is called mixed reality.

VRX is a bet that can go very well and if you have the best names make huge profits, or if it goes wrong I am convinced that we will not lose money, I have too many and I'm not greedy, I'm staying with the best and will put on sale for $ 300 top-quality names like bettingvrx, adsvrx, spacevrx, vrspacex, etc.

If anyone is interested send me a pm.

Although I am not greedy, if I knew with absolute certainty that success would not sell me any that I have.
Since I'm not entirely sure, but I'll bet that the name will end up triumphing, "virtual reality experience" is one of the most important keywords of VR, it is too long, VRX is short, it can be used internationally and also in many combinations is polyvalent: adult, extreme, exploration, expo, etc.

I'm going to stay between 10 and 20 first class and to wait, there are still many things in domaining VR for deciphered.

Yes exactly.

I wish everyone the best of luck with VRX domains.

But most of the owners of the sites quoted would have reg'd these domains. The time to decide if it is a good investment is when we start seeing good aftermarket sales with "VRX".

There will always be startups using VIR, VRX, MVR etc.

But it is when they prove to be a big hit in the aftermarket that we should judge their success.

Personally I think it could be a good gamble.

As always good luck :)
