This story starts with DNF; a barren wasteland that once was a leading forum within the domain industry. While the forum itself played a huge role in propagating the myth that is Adam Dicker, the story really begins with DNF College in the summer of 2011.

Updates / Reports
These are in no particular order.

From what I understand, Adam still owes north of $33,000 to previous customers and business partners. As I receive more information, I will update this figure.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
My thoughts exactly.

Also, I don't see those who were shouting around with their biased emotions and were showing off sympathies to victims just a single day ago. I care for the victims too and hope they will resolve things with Adam soon, but that should not mean to bring a man down to his knees just because he has committed mistakes.

Aside from that, not sure which business school these hype-creators have learned to handle things like this, but there are professional ways to deal with things like these, especially when things are associated with something as big as what Adam was doing with his business. It requires thorough investigation and proper facts to identify as to why the issues arose and who actually is to blame. I still believe that Adam wasn't the only person to blame and that there can be other hands involved. But someone was in a hurry to create a propaganda for his personal gains or whatnot. It's a good thing that it all worked out for the benefit of the victims here, than for him only.

Lastly, a request. If you can't act as a professional here, at least respect those who respect the name and community of this forum, (i.e. namePROS = professionals, for those who can't figure it out themseleves).

PS:
I don't see theRealshane.com anywhere, any clue where to find it, I'm in a mood to see some new propaganda now?

Mistakes? Hype? Please use the proper words.

Mistake: I make a mistake when I forget to call you back after you paid me $1500 to do X for you.
Fraud: I commit fraud when I REFUSE to call you back after you paid me $1500 to do X for you AND I refuse to refund your hard earned money.

Dont confuse the two. And stop trying to diffuse the truth. People can tell that you are.

Its not hype, its the truth. If I were defrauded by him and you told me I was hyping it up, I'd be just as angry with you as I am with the person who committed fraud on me.

Really? hype? Are you a current employee???

The reason this thread isnt dying is because people like you come on here and STILL DEFEND the wrong-doings. You really look silly.

Stop redefining the meaning of words. Mistake?

The MISTAKE was to do business with him.

Im in the xenforo admin control panel right now and I dont see anywhere that I could inflate the user count without creating each user. Not saying it isnt possible though of course, Im a novice. As far as the groups being shown in the user count I don't see the settings for that either but it could be part of an add-on or plugin or whatever.

Well, couple of guys here are guessing I am on your payroll/employee. Not sure how they got this idea though, but they do have hell of imagination.

Well if you're not, then Adam needs to hire you as the loyal drips off the screen!

There are plugins to add fake users but not real ones. I think the plugin is just for whose online but unsure. These were merged from another group, I am not sure how as I was not the one who did it but I was aware that groups were merged. There is nothing wrong with merging groups.

That says they did not sign up that day and were not typed in manually that is to say individually by anyone on staff. Did someone - especially a freelancer - just edit the public display figure? A few seconds work to an entry in the database or just the site template, wouldn't cost more than $5.00.

No.

You don't need to do it in the control panel - you could do it in page templates or even very crudely in CSS. Or just create a new static text box with any figure you like. Or as someone said, you just import a text file of users you bought for $5.00. I keep getting emails now to whois email addresses offering me huge databases of people including email addresses for tiny sums of money.

I guess if DNF is put on sale buyers will want to inspect this closely.

Adam you should probably stop trying to engage the mob. After unresolved issues have been cleared up, you should do a video or if your relationship is still good with Mike Cyger an interview to clear the air, clear up unanswered questions and apologize. While I don't know if you will ever be able to regain trust, at least I think it would show you had the balls to face the issues and it could be a respectable act.

Not that I feel the ire is unjustified, Its just that taking care of those who have been wronged should take priority over responding to/engaging each speculative accusation.

I think its very relevant, it helps paint the picture of deception, it goes to the very crux of the matter.

Adam Dicker has painted a picture of himself being an industry giant, its precisely how he suckers in the newbies and takes their money and gains their trusts.

Only that image is increasingly looking false. From making up employees in his 'team', to inflating the membership statistics of his best known web property, to implying that he has 8 figure domain name sales to his name, to being described as a hugely successful domain name millionaire, but one who admits he could'nt afford to pay $2500 a month to his 'vice president'.

The only people who can't see the relevance haven't read the whole thread.

You nailed it.... + 1 Million

I believe the $2500 was all cleared and you might have missed it. Managers were like business partners initially and income was based on profit sharing, not fixed salary. But later on, it changed. But the whole concept on which Adam hired managers was profit sharing and that's how business goes in the corporate world when someone opt to do partnership. It's another thing that it didn't worked out for Adam and others.

And please, let's not judge anyone's pockets by their mistakes.

Excuse me ignorance but do partners make other partners sign NDAs? After all, we are partners and own the company together...so.why should I sign?

Or is this the way to do in Corporate World?....wait... Am I missing something? What corporate? We couls not find any.

It is.very OK if Adam helped you sometime before but please ben rational.

That isn't what we need to find out.

Adam Dicker stated that the member count was not counting members from a specific user group (e.g. VIPs on namepros are a user group, I believe).

And he therefore changed the settings so that the membership statistics counted all users. So what would be more helpful is if somebody could ascertain whether there is a setting in the control panel which changes whether the member count can be set to not count a certain type of user.

I am going to ask this question on the xenforo community forum, when I can be bothered, no rush. I want to be able to understand whether there is a logical reason why the member count would jump by 125,000 people in one day which the settings would explain, or whether the only logical explanation is that it has been altered with a plugin or by a code hack.

Interestingly DNF is still claiming on the membership page to have "over 300,000 members".

It is difficult to believe that there were 125,000 member accounts in an unspecified user group that Adam Dicker did not know about until they found a setting in the control panel one day.

What user group was it, Adam?

300,000 members? It's like 3 active people on that forum...... Like literally...

www.Anxiety.ca one of adam's sites. Nicely designed, good alexa rank. Indexed well at goo and yahoo. No duplicate content found..

Projects like that is why he wins awards.

How much for a site like Anxiety.ca Adam?

Are you serious or joking? That is a cheap platform with no customization that I see of at all.

Here's the platform, $97 fee and you can use it on as many sites as you want.

Website development is not buying a script, uploading it, and saying "job done". It's not Wordpress with a few plugins. It is custom work to meet a client's exact needs.

So even if ex. Employee did add that photo qhat does that make him as a company owner? You dont check your website? That is not an execuse ex employee
Following your logic. If cops will put drugs in your house and then "find" it. Will it make any difference, after all, it's your house, you supposed to control what in there.

Recently, he had a large payday from a wealthy investor allegedly worth over $1,000,000,000.

This is one billion where I come from, not one million.
