DAN.COM (formerly known as Undeveloped.com) is on a path to be become the biggest domain marketplace in the world. We use state of the art technology to solve everyday problems buyers and sellers in the domain industry face. At DAN.COM we focus on automating most processes required to buy & sell domains to increase a more efficient and active secondary market for domains.

What sets us apart is our strong focus on product development and customer satisfaction. We leave nothing to chance and every single feature and element we introduce is professionally and carefully designed and built.

DAN.COM is ranked in the top 5 best-rated marketplaces in the world (According to the biggest review platform Trustpilot) and in the domain industry, we're the domain marketplace with the highest rating with an average of 9,4 out of 10 points.

At DAN.COM you will get the highest value for the lowest commission around. Due to our domain transfer automation, we can offer significantly faster handling of domain transactions and payouts (usually within 24 hours) at the lowest fee charged by any domain marketplace.

We've been the first on many fronts and proudly will continue to keep innovating. The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If we have a domain like Frank.com or Germany.com, We could put a min offer like 5mil or 10 mil and we can sit relaxed. Its not the case for 95% of domains.

should be adjustable
account based
better domain based

Bug report

In account settings, the default starting offer always reverts back to $200 after saving.

How much sense does it make to hide the minimum offer and keep the potential buyer guessing? Keep plugging in dollar after dollar amount until they reach the minimum? They're not going to put up with that nonsense...

If anything it scares away potential buyers because they don't want to enter in an offer too high over the actual (hidden) minimum offer, and then fear that they've grossly overpaid

well if u dont wanna show it right away at least show it after they offer too low 1st time. there..everyone happy.

Right? Anything is better than just losing a potential lead because of the unnecessary guesswork

I guess that is not a simple guesswork
but something that DAN could easily test

I'm in favor of not showing nothing
and let the prospect type in his idea

but all depends
and it should be adjustable
at account level
and domain level

"show nothing"
"show after 1. /(2.)/(3) try"
"show immediately"

my guess is
it depends on the sales price
the domain
and the country of the buyer
which is best

Potential buyers might eventually just put in an offer closer to their real budget, that could actually surpass the minimum.

You can go a different route, just set the minimum offer allowed at Dan and get the tire kickers. Unless you're willing to sell at minimum offer, what's the point of showing it to prospective buyers?

That's the whole point...

A minimum offer shouldn't be a blanket for ally domains...I have a wide variety of min offers set because it gets it in the ballpark. I don't want time wasting and what is the point in adding more barriers to get a lead going?

It pains me to think about how many potential offers are lost because some of my higher min offers weren't ever known to the potential buyer because they didn't want to keep guessing.

I don't want to have to put the $99 min offer and deal with time wasters.

The whole point is to let the prospective buyers know up front what it takes to get a conversation started

My guess is DAN wants to force sellers to place BINs and place the lowest min offers possible in order to convert more sales. They assume that sellers will be pushovers and sell for less than they'd expected...it's hard for many domainers to say no to offers

I see your point. I guess you could add the minimum offer in the domain description, if you really wanted a workaround.
Maybe Dan will add the ability of showing the minimum offer, as an option in the near future.

They did have the min offer shown when a potential buyer entered in an offer that was below the threshold...it's just only now been this hidden feature in 2.0.

I really hope they consider showing the min offer again

what pains me is the fact
that before the change
the min bid was shown
in the google search results as
PRICE

Genius!

Haha seriously what is so hard to get?

I don't want low mins.

I want min offers that match the specific domain so I don't have to deal with time wasters.

It was fine the way it was...the point of a minimum offer is to get it in the ballpark where it's a serious offer for that specific name.

It's ridiculous going from $99 to 5+ figures. It's not professional and it's not worth my time when I have many names

Good morning Sircc,

Thank you for reporting this.

I would like to dive deeper into this.

Could you send me a private message with your account email?

@DAN.COM
Feature requests:
1) It would be great if in our domain stats, you would show those left abandoned in shopping carts.
2) Domains which potential clients have used the chat widget or contacted a Dan broker.

After all, these are the real leads, not the low ball offers we sometimes receive.

thanks
Good morning @sircc,

Thank you for your feature requests.

I will make sure to relay this to our team for review. With regards to the second feature, when clients do contact our support chat, our account managers will always make sure to relay any viable lead

Have a great week ahead.

@DAN.COM

Do you have some landing pages stats that you can share? like for example:

- Which landing page style has higher STR, Default Vs Brandable?

- Which is better: showing seller's domains at bottom Vs bio Vs none? (I feel showing domains will distract the buyer from buying the landing page domain and may lead to no sale)

- Make offer Vs BIN Vs BIN+Offer

...etc

Such stats will be greatly helpful for the community

Thanks

Either way, I've switched my nameservers to NS3/4(.)Afternic(.)com for a testing period, so any offers via DAN will be solely from searches on their direct marketplace.
