So, to make it short, every time when I have an issue with a namepros member, regarding a payment/late to pay or if he ever posted in the request domains sections something like 'one dictionary word .com, no plurals, maximum budget $50' I tend to put him on ignore, to make sure I will not deal with him next time. Everything was smooth and I didn't had any issue until lately, when looks like someone from my ignore list posted Sold in one of my threads, even if he was suppose to not see/be able to post in my threads. So, by mistake I noticed later on that something was not right in that thread and thinking that is a bug, I asked the mods to correct it. The answer was something like even if he is on my ignore list, even if I don't want to deal with him, even if I can't see his SOLD post, even if I can't receive messages from him, I need to deal with him. WHAT????

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

You can still unignore him. Usually I find this, in the down side of page. (Show ignoring content or sth like that)

Yes, but the main idea is that there is a reason why he is on that list, so I don't want to unignore him and I don't want to deal with him. It should be very straight forward.

I would deal with him to avoid negative feedbacks/bans etc and then ignore him again. Forever.

So someone is robbing you, someone it's not paying you for a won auction or something similar, but you are forced to deal with him, with the risk of losing again time/money. What about if he will POST SOLD again tomorrow?

You are right. It would be great to not be able to participate to an auction if you are ignored by the seller. But for now, these are the rules.

To clarify, NamePros does not have a block feature yet, which is what you've described and expected.

NamePros only has an ignore feature, which hides content of members on your ignored list, but you still can (and must in the marketplace) use the "Show Ignored Content" link if it appears on a marketplace listing. You can, however, block/exclude/ban members from participating in your marketplace listings: Learn how.

The way the ignore feature works is designed by our forum software and not us; we have not modified it, but we do plan to improve it in the future.

It's also on our to-do list to disable the ignore feature in the marketplace forums.

We hope that helps.

So, to my understanding, namepros mods will be a warrant to any lost money/time from a transaction with somebody who you know already that it's not trustable. So he can do whatever he wants and he will repeat it as many times as he wants, because there is no real way to stop him. So by excluding, the only way(if he has a certain number of transactions and not enough negatives) it's to name in each sale thread everybody from my ignore list, this is what are you saying? So I'm forced to deal with a thief just because and even if I will loose time/money, nobody will compensate me and this can be done over and over? In this case, I will wait until you will ban me and then I will delete my marketplace threads, but I will not loose 1 cent from my money, just because somebody will tell me to do it.

You can review the block options at the following link:
You can also set other criteria to block certain members from your auction(s):
  • Rule 6.1.24. Participatory criteria, eligibility, and restrictions imposed by sellers on their sales listings and auctions must be reasonable (e.g., established members only or bidders must have ten positive Trade Reviews) and must be nondiscriminatory based on race, gender, personal preferences or opinions, etc.
If you do not block certain people from your auction, then they may participate and you must honor that. It is your responsibility to set the criteria that you want on your auctions.

We will have easier ways to do this in the future, but these are the only options available at the moment.

So your response to this is to have everybody from my ignore list(10, 100, 1000) listed in each sale thread with username and user ID and if they want it, to send each one of them a Pm with exclusion? So if I start new sale thread each day I need to spend half day just to make sure that the one's who should not be able to participate are informed... this looks like a way to punish the guy who is using the ignore feature and to protect a thief. Also, he should send me a PM if he want's to be informed through PM and not listed, but being on ignore, I will not receive his PM and we are back again to step one over and over. This sounds something like in twilight zone.

Those are some of the options, but you did not mention all of them. Please refer to the previous link for what you missed.

Please understand that the marketplace is free, and one of the reasons for that is because it requires more effort than a marketplace that charges you money. However, as we mentioned, there will be better solutions for it in the future. Until then, we've linked you to the available options if you want to use our free marketplace. You're exchanging your time and effort for more potential money in your pocket. That's how it works.

Fortunately, you would only have to do the work one time (i.e., copy the list of members you ignore), and then you can paste it into all of your listings within a few seconds each time. It would take a very small amount of your time to paste it for each auction after you did it once.

To be clear:
  • It's not a punishment; it's an option. You don't have to use it.
  • We do not permit thieves to use our marketplace when we have sufficient evidence that they are a risk. We have stopped countless thieves over the years, which is well documented both publicly and privately.
  • If you have evidence that someone should not be participating in our marketplace, then please contact support with it.
  • We do not encourage the use of the Ignore system. It is part of the forum software that we use, but as you can see, it causes issues and you should avoid it. It is not necessary.

This topic already exists and is considered a duplicate.
