SPOILER ALERT - it's OVER - if you are reading this thread skip ahead and save your time!
https://www.namepros.com/posts/6369241/

Went ahead and called, got a fantastic and knowledgeable rep. She said that the offer is actually unlimited, and will last until they use up their quota OR 1 October whichever comes first. There are no charges and no restrictions, other than the mandatory 60 day transfer lock.*

She also said it is available to NEW customers also, so anyone having problems, have you tried multiple browsers? That seemed to help a few people.

Also, as long as the transfer is initiated during the special, then they are allowing a full 90 days for the transfer to complete, just in case someone updates their contact info and gets stuck with the Change of Registrant lock, this will allow plenty of time for the transfer.

My specific issue was that I forgot to turn off privacy and only did so after I started the transfer, so the approval emails are not getting through. She said if the system doesn't get a reply, it will REFRESH the contact email from whois after a couple days, so eventually they should come through. My other option was to cancel and start over, which I opted not to do.

*The standard hassles with NetSol are
1] you have to call to get Auth Codes, they try to talk you into staying. Best excuse say you sold the domain and they are pretty good about it.
2] push between accounts can be tedious - personally have not attempted
3] they will try and renew up to NINETY days ahead of time, and the renewal costs are high - $35ish
4] they have lots of internal marketing, there is a way to opt-out while you are checking out, not sure how to opt-out after the fact.

I am also fully aware that every rep has their own understanding so hopefully, the answers I got are accurate although some of this info does directly contradict what other members have been reporting

Good Luck everyone!

by transfer initited during 90 days do you mean just to place the order or do you mean to also input auth codes?

Much appreciated that you were able to verify this with someone from Network Solutions! That makes sense that they have a specific quota allocated for this promotion.

The standard hassles that you mentioned are some of the exact reasons why I would be scared to death moving dozens of names over to them. You might be able to save hundreds of dollars, but still not worth the risk/hassle IMO.

The e-mail spam that I get from them alone is insane, and that's only for a handful of domains.

Good luck!

Thanks for letting us know about your call - though this really is frustrating, when their different reps are all saying something different, with each insisting that only they have the correct info. Do you know the name of the person you spoke with? Which department?

Yes I tried multiple browsers earlier and it didn't work. I'm now at a different place and my cart has been emptied, so I'll clear everything and give it another shot with a few domains and if it works then I'll add more.

Wouldn't normally have wasted so much time on this - but not having to worry about renewals for a year would make life soooo much easier....

As I understand it, you place the order with JUST the domain name and "Pay" for it. Soon after, it should show up in your Transfer Manager and ask for the Auth Code, and also and email is sent requesting the same info. Then you *should* have 90 days to get the Auth Code and complete the transfer from that point.

Just for my sanity, cut pasted all my transfers into spreadsheet and the following are all the "status" you will see in Transfer control panel
1 In Progress not started yet
2 Action Required domain locked / issue at losing registrar
3 Pending Auth Code you must enter the Auth Code
4 Pending FOA waiting for email to be approved
5 Pending Completion waiting for losing registrar to release
6 Completed

Hello!

What exactly does "1 year term extension until October 1st" mean?
Does it mean 1 year extension, provided that the expiry occurs before October 1st? Or is October 1st only the deadline for the promotion? And in this case, must the transfer process be concluded by October 1st in order to be accepted at no fee? How about the domains that will expire after October 1st? Will they also get a full 1 year extension, with no extra fees?

Thanks!

it was said earlier.. octber 1st is simply the end of this promo
it is irrelevant to how much expiry time you get.

@Yaffa - yes it's frustrating when they give out different answers to everyone. The rep I spoke to was Allison, and in the phone menu I chose Support (not Sales) and the next choice was Support with Domain Names IIRC

Totally try a few at a time, or even just one, I did one, then two, then I loaded up and did 90 - that was pure tedium to remove the extra renewals. If I do any more, I will entirely do smaller batches.

One concern that I asked about that she did NOT know the answer to was if there were any restrictions by country, this has happened to us before on NP where some members can get a deal and others have issues, so not sure if those of you who ran into problems asked if there were any country verifications or restrictions that could be causing the hold up.

i noticed that names that are from netfirms/domain.com are still on pending while names from fasthosts ie moved fast to the auth code phase.

Works for me.

I am using firefox.

10 GD domains in progress, 1 namecheap domain complete, checked whois and date is now 10/2018

I assume what you mean is, after transfer the domains will each have an additional year tacked on to their expiration dates, one year beyond wherever they currently expire.

I am tempted to do it for some of my domains, maybe even...all 1500 domains. However, once I do it, I would need to either stay stuck with NSOL, which I am sure has a much higher renewal rate than I am getting on my high end account at DynaDot (DD), or bring them all back to DD after the additional year on each expires, which granted my domains do not all have the same expiration date but are spread out through the year.

Now, if this is the case with NSOL: you have to call to get Auth Codes, they try to talk you into staying. Best excuse say you sold the domain and they are pretty good about it. --- that would be quite a hassle for 1500 domains, even if spread through a calendar year.

Also there is that 60 day lock no sales on any transferred domains for that long. Consider also that there will be another 60 day lock when you transfer them back.

I mean, if I transferred all 1500, I'd save over twelve grand, but I wonder what DD would think when my account is suddenly empty lol.

Then again, as Signor Roberto said in the Godfather II, "Because after all, Don Vito, money isn't everything." Could be more hassle than it's worth. Could also end up being a penny wise pound foolish situation due to lost sales during the locks or other unforeseen issues.

It is tempting though.

That's good to hear at least someone from Network Solutions appears to be saying it is a valid promotion. So that takes away one worry. But the difficulty getting the Auth Codes and the stories about the unprofessionalism of the company re people's concerns on them somehow potentially taking people's domains or being tricky with customers don't sound good. Do they ever have any reps on the forum?

On their website it seems to suggest you can just request Auth Codes through the site, without calling, though it takes 3 days. Does anyone have any very recent experience with them in terms of getting Auth Codes? Do your requests for Auth Codes just not go through at all, as in it is part of their process that there is, in fact, no way to get them through your account, whatever their site suggests, and so it is part of their process you must call? Or is it just more that they are unreliable, deliberately or otherwise, sending them?

Thanks - Just to complicate matters, selecting those options put me in contact with a lady who said that there isn't an Allison in that department but she'll transfer me to Support (huh?) where there may be an Allison. . 25 minutes later I'm still on hold with music.Yes I should take a break and hope that someone else will clarify what new customers need to do - but I recall that the Fasthosts amazing deal finished abruptly when their allocation ended and I really don't want to lose this one.
(Edited to add that after 40 mins I got the survey without a human to speak to... Then I called again and the lady I spoke with insisted that the coupon is NOT good for new users, that you need to have been a member before the coupon was first issued... Now they are trying to see if anything can be done.)

I recently transferred a few out of Network Solutions. The interface isn't intuitive and there are many hurtles to jump through just to get the authorization code for a single domain. Then you have to wait 3 business days to get the code.

I always cringle when I have domains to move from them.

I will try this one. Hope I can transfer back the domains. I'd expect some renewal fees 3-4 times more than normal...

Never mind. It doesn't work. I get $9.99 transfer fee and on top of that the renewal fee lol

I actually just opened a new account with NSOL, and tried to transfer in two domains but the coupon code did not work. When I inputed it, I got

Your offer code has not been applied to this order, please provide account credential info.

BTW, in order for it to "work" at the end of the checkout the amount deferred should equal the amount owed, and be 0.00 for both, otherwise you are being charged.

Argh, so does this mean that I will now be spammed to death by NSOL with no benefit obtained?

what is the difference between
one time service fee and renew for additional years,

isnt it a trick? i mean this coupon only applies for one time service fee but not for additional years...

It does not seem to apply to anything or even work right now :xf.rolleyes:, but what it is supposed to do is allow you to transfer domains for free and get an additional year added to the renewal which is a condition of transfer at all registrars anyway - that you must add on a year at transfer. This coupon supposedly gets your domains over to NSOL with that additional year added on to whatever the current expiration date is, all at no cost.

For New Customers
@Elad n @xynames @Yaffa
I bought one of their plan
https://www.networksolutions.com/website/website-offer.jsp

It is hosting with free domain, around 2.5/month.
I bought for one month (I still do not know if I can cancel it after some time or not, but still I needed one domain from one of my blog, so for me it is win/win).
After sometime tried the coupon again, it worked. And I applied it to around 50 domains. so you all can try.
I am just saying, it worked for me but can not be sure.
Rest now waiting for auth codes to be applied on the domains.

Still I am confused about Aditional one year, if any one please reply about it.
Thanks

I have a brand new NSOL account just opened just today. I did not buy anything nor have I ever bought anything on this account from NSOL, the advice above is conflicting about whether we must do this first. As noted I put two domains in the cart, removed the one year extension so that all that remain are the two 1-time Service Fees, 9.99 x 2, but when I input the FREETRNSFEROCT , I get

Your offer code has not been applied to this order, please provide account credential info.

and the cart remains stuck at 19.98 with 0 deferred.

AuctionBio, whenever you transfer a domain to a new registrar the expiration date is extended one year.

Renewal rates are high as compare to others . but they will give you renewal coupon personally . i had few names on NS and when expiration comes to near or about to expire they send me coupon of $3.33 for .com renew . if you still do not trust easily get auth code next year and take them away .

Hope it helps .

Please check my post above your post, I had the same error...
Than @Yaffa talked to one of customer service with netsol and one of the representative suggest this to buy some thing before applying this code, (she was not sure either about this solution), but I just tried this and it worked for me...
Also you try to delete cockies and also try this on some other explorers.
