Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Well he's not the only 'smart guy' to say it, so let's hope he's right. But obviously "replacing traditional personal computers" now that's the worry as far as domains is concerned.

If virtual glasses is the next step, then that will change the way people use the internet.

Technology killed the video shop and there's a good chance virtual tech will do the same with the internet as we know now someday if virtual tech is a success and if that happens, there's a good chance domains will go the same way as VHS and cassette tapes.

Still a long way off yet though, i think people are still going to be using laptops/desktops in 15-20 years and i don't think any of us see our VR domains as 15-20 year investments.

I cannot imagine what I would do without domaining, future is truly uncertain indeed.

I don't see this happening. Phone will be with us for next century. I also think AR will have huge benefits, but will be limited because of liability. Anyone hurt while using AR will file against manufacturers. VR, all focus on being in virtual world and limits liability. VR will be used for everything, escaping real world, detail shopping, porn, education, games, research, medical, therapy, law, simulation and the list goes on forever. We are so lucky to be in before the masses!

Yes. It will be global issue with time as many looking for free life ticket. I think AR will be huge, but more limited. Sure can't drive or even walk in a crowd with headset on. I believe phone will be used more with AR.

Taunt him. Make him actually file and pay for the UDRP, then imagine the look on his face when he realizes he's out $x,xxx & no domain...

That's what I usually do. I give them complete instructions, links, and advice on how to move forward with a UDRP. Some of them then even come back to the table and make an offer (if they actually have a genuine interest in the domain).

Pride/Ego is a funny thing.

It is resulting in offers.Believe it or not the above transcript was after I countered at 350 on a 70 buck offer lol.
Also received a £300 offer off another outbound email,countered

Cant do any harm firing a few emails out if you feel the offers are going stale,more VR startups everyday.

Thanks, you've inspired me to try outbound again, despite the abuse!
Outbound was how I got my first sale, but no luck since. I am also wary of UDRPs, even if the name is somewhat generic and you are in the right, there can still be some risk of someone filing one.

In my modest opinion, do not renew any, although perhaps I am at the moment very aggressive with the renovations.

well.. it is summer.. slow time.. so its easy to be more critical now.. VR is still the future imo.. despite slow summers.. and or slow start.. to me VR its exactly where it should be at this stage..

either way......I'll probably renew couple .. but not much... maybe something like vr-payments.. I'll see...

if anyone has input feel free. those were all cheap promo regs for me.. so I don't care much for them..
