Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

yeah... good call there imo

if I was to renew any.. which I might.. I'd pick max 5.. and make program programs payments 3 of them

ty for your view.
Considering the European market, there was nothing in particular that caught my eye Alcy. Ive kept to the bare minimum of mine,
VR-Clinic(s)
VR-Cafe(s)
VR-Ready
VR-Casinos
VR-Arcades

Cheers.

tnx
I like arcades and casinos.. but this shows we all have diff views and opinions I guess

I probably own around 10 other vr- domains.. of which I already renewed couple like vr-park and vr-ventures......... which are two of my faves.. but out of the 50-60 total I own.. I'd like to reduce it to around 10 total.. I think its safe gamble.. keep your best 10 vr- dashed domains for future.

lol.@createaweb ive literally just started doing outbound passively
It is resulting in offers.Believe it or not the above transcript was after I countered at 350 on a 70 buck offer lol.
Also received a £300 offer off another outbound email, countered

Cant do any harm firing a few emails out if you feel the offers are going stale, more VR startups everyday.

just made few handregs ( first invest in domaining ) feel free to tell me what you think about it

virtualrealityscene dot com
virtualrealitydevkit dot com
vraffinity dot com
vrannounce dot com

Hi @griouss, welcome to the forum!

Here's my two cents worth on your early regs:

1) As far as the "VirtualReality" longtails, IMHO, only the very strongest kw will result in a high probability of sale. (Remember, you're already 14 letters long before you even add the kw at the end - Statistically, you get much over 8-10 letters, and odds of sale go way down...) Here, I think "scene" and "devkit" if paired with "VR" have some value, but with "virtualreality" considerably less...
2) For both "affinity" and "announce" a quick perusal of Namebio will show very few sales with these words in the kw+affinity or kw+announce configuration...

In short, I would encourage you to (a) read the VR and related threads all the way through before making further hand-regs; (b) familiar yourself with top-selling kw and concentrate on these; And (c) search the drops/aftermarket for more viable names. (Sadly, hand-regging in VR/VirtualReality space is pretty much played out at this point... JMHO...)

Above said, GL with your names and welcome to domaining - It can be fun and even profitable if you do your homework! ;)

In my modest opinion, do not renew any, although perhaps I am at the moment very aggressive with the renovations.

Luck.

@alcy, I gotta say I concur with @marioct regarding this group of hyphenates... I'd show 'em the door... :xf.frown:

@alcy

Same.

I think you already have some great names without hyphens, and an eye for regs. Your money could be better spent, IMO.

:)

VR World Decentraland Raises $25.5 Million In Cryptocurrency
https://uploadvr.com/vr-decentraland-raises-million-cryptocurrency/

wow amazing.. how future is all coming into clearer picture as time passes!

its with this type of broad idea they talk of here.. that I regged things like VRtimeshare(s) couple years back!

StartupVR @ Namejet Auction

nice!
I own reverse of it.. VRstartup.com

which I prefer personally and find more desirable.. but.. maybe to each his own! keyword+vr good for brandables though!

I don't think this auction wil do well at this stage.. maybe lowish XXX
but I do see VRstartup with 4 figure potential to right enduser in years to come.. which is why I won't be selling this early.. well.. certainly not like startupVR early :)

cheers

don't reg off expired much lately.. gotta say, decent stuff is hard to come by even there!!! moreso with each passing week it seems! but I guess someone (I bet your reading those lines too hahah) had too many pretty decent vr domains and had to drop a few over last few days.. all the way back from 2013.. thats even before I got around to VR heheh... as matter of fact I didn't even know how to reg a domain before 2015 :)

gotta fill up all the VR domains I'm dropping with a few new ones I guess hahha
no worry.. still keeping few 100s.. VR is the ftuure!

Thank you for this rich answer I will take note of everything, regarding this I can just approve and plus this sound so logical (when you know it). I'm Going to make SEO on scene domaine to give him some natural traffic and ranking...

Cheers

It seems new vive 2.0 base stations are coming in (at least to devs) in November, which could mean Vive 2.0 headset released Summer 2018 i.e. 7-8 months away from now.

I like the idea of VR but how long do you think it will be before its really taken off and become main stream? I mean I dont know anyone who has a vr unit and have never seen any advertising in the real world. Whats the projected time scale before vr is like tv. 5 years? 10 years?

I know people who have a VR system. I've also seen, heard, read, and otherwise come across various forms of real world advertising. Albeit, both in a small and infrequent quantity.

In my opinion:

3-5 years for VR to become mainstream. Not mainstream like a Chair, T.V., or Cup, - but mainstream like a Swing, Theatre, or Thermos.

For the "Chair, T.V., or Cup" phenomenon, maybe 10 years or more.

:)

That's around 40 names, so say $20x40 = $800 for 10 years = $8000 in renewals. I'd be amazed if you ever managed to sell one of those for $x,xxx, even if VR becomes mainstream in that time frame.
